Staff were extremely very nice. The room was very expensive for £69 per night. We didn’t even get a complimentary drink or breakfast. When we got at the hotel the lift we used to go to our room was so dirty specially in a pandemic The table and chairs outside were filthy (got picture). I would be better off using travelodge

Reception and breakfast service was great as you were to expect of a 4* Novotel. Unfortunately the shower was filthy with yellow and mouldy grout - it was disgusting. We did ask room service to clean but after cleaning it was the same.

Tired, dated, uninvested hotel. Not worthy of 1 star. Filthy lifts, dirty corridors, miserable reception staff, unkempt site. This is a old 1960’s building that has had a failed makeover. Does the hotel manager care at all? Shame, other Novotels are OK. Premier inn 100% better at half the price.

I normally stay at the Novotel in Coventry due to the location, but during the lockdown periods the cleanliness of the hotel had deteriorated when in fact it should have improved. Generally the staff are superb but under the current circumstances the cleanliness of the rooms should be a priority

Well appointed hotel, good facilities, staff very efficient, although after a shutdown due to COVID 19 there we a few small issues with the room! Even though the menu was reduced there was plenty of choice and good quality at a reasonable price

A 15 minute stroll to the Stadium, the rooms are clean and spacious, the staff throughout are fantastic, helpful with a good variety at breakfast and also bar snacks and restaurant fair, have stayed before and will definitely stay again.

Not great. Loud customers next door. Poor service at breakfast and my door lock was broken so reception had to let me in

Not worth £94 loud customers next door. My room door was broken so reception had to let me in everytime. Service at breakast was impatient and then noisy. I should've asked for a refund really. Will not choose Novotel again

We have stayed at this hotel before and really enjoyed our stay, however on this occasion we had an extremely unpleasant stay. Firstly, the room was not ready with a sofa-bed even though we had stated that we have 2 young children. We were then moved into another room in which the beds were ready, and I had to trapeze our suitcases from floor to floor. The room was very average, including cleanliness. The toilet fan wasn't working and it had an adjoining room in which the guests were extremely noisy. I believe their was a boxing tournament on nearby and many of the attendees were staying at this hotel. It was clear that the hotel staff were unable to cope with the pressure as well as with some of the rowdy behaviour. We had people running up and down the corridors after 2am disturbing our sleep and waking our children. No attempt was made by staff to confront the protagonists and when I complained the reception staff told me that they were in the office and couldn't hear the noise, which sounded unbelievable to me. I feel the general condition has gone down and probably won't be staying there again.

Unfortunately on the weekend you stayed we are aware there was an event in the area that affected the stay of some of our other guests. Arrived late evening and departed the following morning so did not spend too much time in the hotel. However I found the staff to be very courteous and helpful, the food at the evening meal was good as was the breakfast with lots of choice but without being spectacular. The rooms are newly redecorated and the finish and overall style is modern and of an extremely high quality.

We enjoy staying at Coventry. Been going there a couple of years.we stay there on way to our family holiday and on way back . it is half way from our destination. Also I am happy that we can take our pet.clean and tidy staff are friendly too.look forward staying there next year

Check in with Anna and room were faultless but must say I was disappointed to be confronted over breakfast to be asked to go to reception mid meal as it was suggested I had not booked breakfast and then when I told the server I would sort it out later I wsa then approached again by a gentleman asking me for my email as evidence. Not the best of service and another couple in the restaurant on the adjacent table rather amused at my perils. At check out I needed to have the laptop on to evidence the email room plus breakfast.

Smoking motel with a poor attitude

A very poor welcome which continued throughout the stay. The front desk gentleman wasn’t interested in the guests, very miserable and long face. Left after 2 days instead of 6. Never experienced in any hotels with smokey corridor which also entered our room through the ventilation system. The breakfast was really bad. Hesitated to book the Novotel but there weren’t any other choices in the area at the time. We will never go back.

Dear Guest We are a 100% smoking free hotel and definitely do not have a problem with smoke in the corridors, nor ventilation. We are also not a motel so I definitely need to check you stayed in this particular hotel. There are a huge amount of hotels in this area to choose from and at this particular time of year the availability is fine. You are more than welcome to contact us directly as we cannot find your booking and would like to know more about the comments you made as these have not been mentioned to anyone here. So this hotel is in a great location for Coventry, Nuneaton and indeed the M6!... they (for some unknown reason) charge for the car park, just a heads up!.Standard Novotel layout of bedrooms, although they've been overhauled so look smart, and smart bathrooms... some of the common areas look like they could do with some tlc (staircases etc)... nice bar, and dining room with usual Novotel breakfast offer.The real + point of this place is the staff, although they are often discrete, they are very friendly and willing to help in whatever way they can.Hotel is also (like all Novotels) pet friendly, which is a plus, but be warned the cost per pet on the hotel website is wrong, so be prepared to pay slightly more than you were expecting

Been renovated to a very good standard,the reception and dining room nicely decorated,food is very good...easy walk to the Ricoh Stadium,staff very helpful.Will always stay here if possible,the price we paid was very competitive.

This used to be my favourite hotel in the West Midlands. Although they have refurbished the rooms to a high standard (especially the showers!) The hotel has lost its personal touch. Not once was I addressed by name - which was always a feature of this hotel - but the check-in and check-out process was lengthy. The restaurant was closed on a Friday night: I had to make do with a table in a crowded bar.

Handy for the Ricoh and Nearly Very Good - Easy Fixes Required

Much of this hotel has been recently refurbished and it's looking a lot smarter. Breakfast is good, but would be so much better if they fixed the plate warmer so you're not serving hot food onto stone cold plates. Staff generally friendly and obliging. Unfortunately (howler alert) - nowhere to plug in hairdryer/straighteners near the (unlit) mirror in the smart new rooms - I dried my hair using the TV screen reflection as the flex is too short to reach the mirror (grrr) - Novotel please fix this! If you can't run to installing additional sockets in the panel near the mirror, at least give us longer flexes on the hairdryers....

I am pleased you enjoyed the breakfast, I have today checked the plate warmer and it is working ok, as in accordance with Health and safety guideline it cannot reach a temperature above hand held, I do apologise if the plates in it had not reached the desired temperature. With regards to the power point positioning for the hair dryer, in the recent refurbishment all of the rooms have had a power point installed adjacent to the mirror, this is with the exception to the adjoining rooms, which I believe you were allocated, this is being addressed, please accept my apology for the inconvenience. Hotel was ok they are having a referb at the moment and the new room are very good i like the seperate bathroom & toilet!! The shower was great!! Could do with more towels in the room! Asked for more pillows & they were in the room when we got there!! All in all good hotel! Lift is a bit scary!!!!!

I stayed at this hotel between 18th and 19th August 2018. I arrived the hotel, collected the key to my room, dropped off my bag and quickly dashed out without checking the room. I returned at about 2am and found out the room had not been properly cleaned. There was drink stain on the table next to the bed, there was also a red stain on the toilet seat when wiped with tissue, the bed was laid in a rush as the edges were rough, the T.V remote was missing and the intercom did not work when I tried to call reception. When I complained about the state of my room, the receptionist apologised and stated that I was the second guest to complain about my room on that day. He offered to clean the toilet and he also found me a remote. He was helpful to the best of his ability. I was promised that a manager would contact me to apologise and assure me of steps being taken to ensure that this does not happen in the future but 4 days and still counting I haven't heard anything from the hotel. I am very disappointed.

Too Expensive

Recently stayed at the Novotel Coventry after my sons wedding reception . £139.00 for a double bed for the night is on the high side and they don't even throw in a breakfast which leaves a sour taste . The car park needs bird spikes on lamp posts and any thing birds settle on as there's quite a lot of bird s**t in the car park . The place is in the middle of a refit so some of the floors are out of bounds . the bit that's usable is clean and tidy and the staff are helpful . Bottled beer is expensive ( bud £4.00 a bottle ) draft beer reasonable ( stelar £4.25 a pint )

We can get a lot more and I'm sure you will agree the finish is lovely. I cannot really comment on what the birds leave in our car park, As an open area you will obviously see this everywhere and unavoidable. The prices again are reflective of a hotel and only slightly more then you would expect to pay elsewhere. We are glad you have mentioned how clean and tidy we are and the helpfulness of our staff.
