Useful hotel, close to the airport

Being a recurring client of Novotel in multiple locations, I have the opportunity to compare the service and overall experience. The hotel is currently being renovated, which should improve the overall experience in the future. A few things are however to improve. First, I explicitly asked before going, and then when I arrived, to replace the duvet with a blanket. I did not get any feedback or explanation why this was not done. Then, the restaurant has to improve. The food looks microwaved and not cooked on site. The result is disappointing, for a rather hefty price. Being a gold member, I expected a form of upgrade if the hotel was not full - not there. The status does not seem to provide any specific advantage (besides a free drink). In Paris, there is a upgrade to a large room in the last floor (with Nespresso machine), sweets, and a few more attentions - and a blanket as requested. The personnel is very friendly (reception, restaurant) and the management is also on the ball. This is why I continue to go there, but I hope that they can improve a bit.

Perfect hotel for anyone with early morning flight from Nice

We recently stayed at the Novotel Nice Arenas Aeroport and we were very pleased with the hotel. It's perfect if you have any early morning flight from Nice. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. It's conveniently located on a bus stop so it's easy to go into Nice proper and stroll around. They also provide a free shuttle service to the airport.

The Hotel is very well located and has free shuttle from both terminals, attentive staff and nice rooms size. The restaurant is ok, and has a variety of foods and beverages and prices are ok for the region.Serves early breakfast in case you are leaving early as i did 6:00am.Try it next time !

transfer to hotel from airport required a 'phone call from customers service to the hotel - the bus came to pick us up at bus station, stop 7. The breakfast on offer was excellent. The only complaint would be the standard of the food offer from the bar. Attention to upgrading the offer would be useful.

If something could go wrong it all did.

It would be useful if people at the check-in could speak sufficient English. I love French language, but in a business trip I am interested more in the precise actions and reactions rather than in a row of misunderstandings and mistakes.

Decent hotel located close to the airport

This hotel is mid-range in terms of comfort and is within easy walking distance of Terminal 1 at Nice airport (Terminal 2 is 12-15mins walk). As a Gold Card member, my room was upgraded to one of the top floor (the 9th), from which I had a good aerial view of the hotel's surrounds, as well as of all the roadworks currently taking place (tramways are being constructed so that there is direct tram access from Nice 6km away - this additionally involves huge re-routing of the original roads). My room was triple glazed and at no time was I aware of any aircraft noise. Breakfast is OK and there's an adequate evening menu in the restaurant. All staff were very welcoming and the room was clean. It was very slightly irking that the daily room cleaning seems to be separate from replenishing the coffee tray (this seems to be an increasing trend in hotels nowadays); if, like me, you leave a card on the door to 'encourage' the cleaners to attend to your room sooner rather than later, it is somewhat annoying when you return only to find the room having been cleaned, but you must still reckon on an intrusion by someone else to do the coffee/tea tray.

High Standard As Expected

Friendly and helpful service. Spacious, quiet and comfortable room, especially the bed. Not my first time at Novotel Arenas. This time no slip-up with our pre-paid meal voucher for dinner. Food was of a high standard and greatly enjoyed. French beds are narrower than we're used too so I used the sleeper couch, also comfortable. One concern was the shower over very slppery bath, without a non-slip mat. Convenient location for easy airport access, public bus transport and good daytime cafes in the neighbouring business district. Best was the room, least was the slippery nature of the shower. Will definitely use Novotel Arenas in future depending on nature and timing of itnerary.

Hotel was nice. Was concerned around the shuttle provided to the airport. There were a # of guests that wanted to ride the shuttle at the same time as I did and a # did not get on the shuttle. Would suggest either a couple of shuttles or a sign up the evening before so that no one is delayed getting to the airport.

The Novotel was so convenient for Nice Airport with a shuttle at regular intervals. Also convenient for getting bus into town. Staff were very helpful and efficient. Would definitely stay there again.

Novotel is very convenient for an early flight from Nice airport. The restaurant is good. The room is spacious and clean. Not fancy for a 4 star rated hotel. Sometime the internet could be lost in my room. Be aware of the location of your room for good internet connection.

Met all my expectations for an early departure from Nice Cote D'Azur Airport. Clean, quiet, comfortable room. Pleasant dining and good food. Helpful and friendly staff. Half-hourly, 24-hour airport shuttle service.

Stayed here before flight from Nice excellent location close to airport yet quiet. 5 mins from hotel to terminal brilliant. Restaurant was fine too and Inexpensive .All in all could not have picked a better place for my needs.

The restaurant food made me feel a bit sick for 2 days and the tap water in the bedroom smelt like a sewage. Our initial room smelt of cigarettes so they moved us into a better room which smelt much better. We were also disappointed to have to pay an extra 13 euros for parking. Apart from all that, the stay was very average.

they gave us the wrong key. so we ended up waking in on a man taking a bath! they were not quite as friendly and felt like we were a chore ... No welcome beverage. it was just an overnight trip. I think they need to work on customer service.

Seriously going down, it's time to wake up!

First, when you arrive at the reception, there is a bad smell, not good at all for a first impression. The receptionist does his job but is obviously tired and blasé. No smile at all. One of the elevators is not functioning and it's been so since our last visit, 1 month before. The chairs in the bar area are literally ripped off... I had to wait for 10 minutes to have someone actually come to the bar to serve drinks at 7 pm. There was nobody and lots of glasses lying around, nothing cleaned, an impression of neglection. The room was ok ( you have what you expect) the bed is comfortable. The food is really expensive for the quality you get. Then, the breakfast: once again, you are "welcomed" in the morning with a sad face from the ladies working there, some bread was literally stale, some of the milk had turned sour... Obviously, the whole staff has lost their motivation. It's my second stay there but it will be the last I am afraid. For the price you pay, it's still too expensive! They take advantage of the fact that they are near the airport but soon, it won't be enough anymore.

Terrible food

The hotel was OK, apart from having faulty door lock and no way of getting fresh air, but the restaurant was terrible. The worst Hotel food I have eaten for some time and breakfast wasn't very good either. I had the cod in a mushroom ragout, which was so strong and "beefy" you couldn't taste the cod. Which might have been a good thing as it was overcooked and rubbery. And tasteless. Desert was an upsidedown tart tatin, with ice cream. The tart and ice cream had a huge sprig of rosemary in it. (What?) The pastry was not cooked through and the apples were soft and not caramelised. What a disaster. Breakfast was uninspiring - cold scrambled eggs, tasteless cheese, a toaster that no one could work and no decaffeinated coffee. I would stay here if you like but definitely bring a picnic.

Pleasant and helpful staff, very good rooms and beds, convenient and complete basic food service all combine to make this one of our favorite airport lodging choices ( and we've seen far too many) Besides, the complications of staying in Nice Centre compared with popping to the airport for quick transportation into Nice make staying here a must.
