Football Trip

Overnight stay for football. Had stayed here before so knew what to expect-maybe not quite as good as last time, but absolutely fine for 1 night. Even though I had checked our 3 rooms in online, we had a lengthy check in on arrival at the hotel of around 25 mins with each room having to be checked in and paid for separately- not something I needed after a 6 hour drive. Some problems with card readers not working-not good for a cashless hotel. Rooms were clean, comfortable and adequate but the bathroom doors in all 3 rooms didn’t close properly. Breakfast experience not good and not good value for money at £12 (£13 if not booked in advance). No tables available on arrival, clearly the dining area isn’t big enough with tables too close together, layout could be improved-food at one side and drinks machines at opposite side of area. Hot food quality poor and overcooked and limited selection.

Very nice, clean and modern hotel. Great nearby parking with a very enjoyable surprise of reduced parking charges for being a hotel guest. Ideally placed for walking to city centre. Handy for O2 Academy music venue which was the purpose of my trip.

I always stay at this hotel never normally have a problem but this time the room seem to be very dusty, the sheets had a stain on them and the shower room didn’t look like it had been cleaned. Never normally have a issue but this time I wasn’t impressed.

Efficient reception and warm welcome; room clean but a little « scanty » and bathroom rather « plastic », but generally comfortable. Beds could have been more comfortable, but it is a budget hotel, so we didn’t expect much more than the basic necessities for a couple of night’s stay. We’d return to this hotel for short stays.

The room was not comfortable. The ambient temperature was not comfortable, the thermostat wouldn’t work, the toiletries had not been refilled when I checked in for 3 nights and the staff at the reception were non welcoming- they need to learn to make eye contact when a guest approaches them rather than have their heads buried in their computer . Found the whole experience very odd
