Each month, UK searches for “brunch” and “bottomless brunch” average 609,000 and 467,000 respectively, as Brits seek out the best places to indulge.
In response to the brunching boom, we’ve carried out research to reveal the top cities for both classic brunch experiences and bottomless brunches. Our study analysed leading brunch venues across various cities, evaluating them on venue quality, search interest, and customer sentiment to produce an overall brunch city index score.
Claiming the top spot as the ultimate brunch hotspot is London – a result that comes as no surprise given the capital’s abundance of breakfast and lunch venues. London ranked highest for venue quality, with popular boroughs like Shoreditch, Notting Hill, and Clapham offering standout spots such as The Breakfast Club, Dishoom, and Granger & Co, all of which are firm favourites among brunch lovers.
Bristol secures second place, celebrated for its vibrant independent food scene and relaxed café atmosphere. The city offers a delicious mix of brunch spots, perfect whether you're after a classic full English or a flavour-packed vegan dish served in a colourful setting. Notable favourites include all-day cafe The Bristolian, Cafe Kino known for its plant-based menu, and the ultra-Instagrammable East Village Café.
Following in third place as an emerging brunch hotspot is Edinburgh. The Scottish capital combines historic charm with a growing food scene, offering everything from cosy cafés to stylish eateries. Brunch lovers can enjoy standout venues like Urban Angel, known for its locally sourced ingredients, The Pantry in Stockbridge with its creative twists on classics, and Loudons, a spacious spot popular for its extensive brunch menu and relaxed vibe.
In fourth place as a traditional brunch hotspot is Bath. The city also fared highly in terms of its search interest, reflecting growing demand for its refined yet relaxed brunch offerings. Known for its Georgian charm and scenic streets, Bath is home to beloved venues like The Ivy Bath Brasserie, Cascara for plant-based plates, and Cafe Lucca, which combines style and substance with its Mediterranean-inspired brunch dishes.
Concluding the top five cities for classic brunching is the seaside city of Brighton and Hove. The southern gem excelled in terms of its overall brunch experience, with glowing reviews highlighting its diverse and vibrant food scene. Popular spots like Cafe Coho, Nowhere Man – famous for its fluffy pancakes – and Oeuf, known for its inventive cocktails and signature “frumpets,” all served with Brighton’s signature laid-back charm.
Durham makes a strong showing with Turtle Bay, which boasts an impressive 4.9 rating and over 4,000 positive reviews. Its Caribbean-inspired menu and laid-back vibe make it a must-visit for brunch lovers. The sentiment score comes in at 9.43, and for £40.88, guests can enjoy a full 120 minutes of bottomless fun – the joint-longest duration on the list.
Sunderland earns its spot in the top three thanks to My Delhi, which brings a unique Indian street food twist to the brunch scene. With a rating of 4.9, a sentiment score of 8.72, and a price tag of just £35, this is one of the best value-for-money brunches on offer. Guests can indulge in bottomless drinks for 90 minutes, all while enjoying bold, flavourful dishes in a vibrant setting.
BrewStone in Swansea ranks fourth with its warm, rustic interiors and top-tier brunch menu. It holds a strong 4.5 rating from nearly 1,800 reviews, and an excellent sentiment score of 9.21. For £34.95, diners can enjoy 90 minutes of bottomless drinks paired with hearty and satisfying plates – a great way to spend a relaxed weekend afternoon in South Wales.
In fifth place is Birmingham’s Luna Springs, a colourful outdoor venue in Digbeth known for its fun-loving atmosphere. With a 4.6 rating and a sentiment score of 8.47, it’s a go-to for lively weekend gatherings. Offering a generous 120 minutes of bottomless drinks from just £29, it’s the most affordable option on the list – perfect for party-goers looking to make the most of their brunch budget.
Newcastle tops the list as the most in-demand city for bottomless brunching, earning a perfect search demand score of 10. Renowned for its lively nightlife, the city brings that same vibrant energy to its bottomless brunch offerings.
Another northern gem, Durham ranks as the second most sought-after city for bottomless brunch, with a search demand score of 7.06. Despite its smaller size, the city boasts a strong line-up of bottomless bars and restaurants – all conveniently within walking distance.
Emerging in third place as an in-demand bottomless brunch city is Manchester, with a search demand score of 5.91. It’s no wonder, as this up-and-coming city boasts a thriving food and drink scene, especially the northern quarter, which is known for its quirky independent venues.
