Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar has become quite the boomtown in recent years, receiving more tourists than its counterpart Mandalay.

Strolling along the Sule Pagoda Road, on one side you’ll find a square with the Yangon City Hall, Immanuel Baptist Church and skyscrapers on the other.

Not a long way from there, while in transit to the most renowned Shwegadon Pagoda, in Bo Gyoke Road you'll see Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Make your way to the famous Rangoon Teahouse serving traditional Burmese food with a conventional twist. Hipster styled interiors only add to the ambience of the place.

Deep dive into a bowl of mohinga, Myanmar’s national dish, or surprise your taste buds with spicy and savoury dishes such as chicken biryani. Like the name suggests, get ready to be impressed with the number of traditional tea inventions. 

Rumor has it that Shwedagon Pagoda was built some 2,600 years ago, making it the main attraction in all of Myanmar. It’s a sight hard to miss even from a distance! This 325ft mass  is a gold-plated sprawl of stunning temples, stupas, and buddhist statues.

We suggest you arrive an hour before sunset, so you can beat the crowd and have a good spot to yourself. Get ready to be awestruck by the majestic beauty lighting up in hues of orange and red. Hint, it's the best time to take photos!
