We have stayed here several times over the last 18 months and enjoyed every time. The bedrooms & communal areas are always cleaned to a high standard & comfortable. All the staff have been very helpful & friendly. We have recommended the hotel to many people. The location & breakfast are hard to beat too

Stayed here many times & always first class. The staff couldn't be more helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. Breakfast is fabulous and varied and the location is perfect - just a very short walk into the centre. Would highly recommend

Stayed here in a twin room, celebrating my sis-in-law birthday and they kindly decorated our room with balloons and a happy 30th birthday sign and offered us 2 free drinks. Great location, fab price and nice and clean. Would definitely stay again

TouristBoy Families - TripAdvisor review

I have always expected that an Ibis budget hotel would be basic but clean and decent. This hotel does not really meet this standard. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming, and it was obvious that real efforts were being made to keep the rather bleak rooms clean. Yet our one night stay was quite unpleasant. The hotel amenity is obviously tired and worn, but the sound insulation seemed minimal. We arrived at the hotel in the early evening and there were already groups of people partying loudly in the corridor. My wife became unwell and had to return to the room around 7pm. She then had to endure a person loudly and persistently banging on the door and demanding to be let in - quite frightening for a woman by herself. The rest of our family group arrived back about 11pm and there was a person sitting in the lobby who I think was a security officer, but his role was unclear. Repeatedly during the night, I was woken by loud drunken shouting in the corridor - I would guess different groups as some raised voices in groups appeared male, others mainly female. My daughter had the misfortune to be in a room near the lift where some guest triggered an alarm in the early hours. There is, of course, no way to seek assistance with the rowdiness as there are no room phones. The breakfast was acceptable for a budget experience, but we were relieved to leave and stay somewhere better the next night. The location of the hotel, just a short walk from the city walls, is excellent but this does not compensate for the other drawbacks. This hotel is clearly a place where loud and disruptive behaviour is tolerated.
