Nwe A Friends getaway - TripAdvisor review

It's a basic and budget hotel but they provided free coffee and tea in the common area for all in-house guests. The front office staffs are very friendly. But the location is a bit far from the restaurant areas and city center. You will need to cross over an iron bridge for footpaths. So, if you bring a big luggage from the city centre to the hotel, choose to order a taxi. Otherwise, you will need to lift your luggage through the iron stairs on the way.

The base for a good weekend.

Lovely hotel close to the city centre, ideal for those that are going for a stag/hen weekend, rooms are a good size and for the most part it was tidy. Out of the 7 rooms we booked, only one hadn’t been cleaned and made up for us, but the reception staff were very helpful and apologetic and was more than happy to give us a change of room. Would stay here again.

A functional compact place to stay, neat and clean. Stay and bath, good heating (a blessing, and strangely enough, a semi-rare commodity). Very friendly and helpful staff. Location wise good as it is almost in between the City centre and Cardiff Bay, short walks either way.

Disappointed the complimentary tea and coffee have been taken away.

Have used the hotel regualry for business trips. The staff are always awesome, you get a lovely wlecome and the rooms are clean and bright. Its a budget hotel and you get what you pay for but I find the rooms comfortable and suit my needs. The location is great as well, close to Cardiff central station and the city centre. On my last visit I was gutted to see that the complimentary tea and coffee that you get at reception had gone. I know its a budget hotel but really offering this was great especially as the continental breakfast is £8.50!!! It really lets the hotel down and will make me re-consider whether I use this hotel in the future.
