In desperate need of attention

This hotel is like a 'Motel' with a separate reception/bar/restaurant and accommodation, separated by the car park. Although the rooms appeared to be up to the usual Ibis standard of cleanliness, they are 'tired': nothing major, just many small items needing attention. The external walkway lighting shines directly into the rooms even with the curtains closed.Outside, the accommodation block gutters are full of plant material ..even small trees!!! This means that water from the roof cascades over the gutters and onto the walkways, causing puddles on the walkways. In places the asphalt has been eroded away , so this problem has been going on for years, not weeks. The bar facilities are limited...alright if you like lager or cider. Restaurant is also basic. Fish & chips was not nice and should be avoided although pizza was alright. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday night cost us over £100. Were must have been on a special 2 for 3 offer, where we got 2 nights for the price of 3? Definitely not good value for this level of quality. Overall this hotel is not a good example of the Ibis name. It is in desperate need of attention. Maybe a candidate for an 'Accor mystery guest'. I have completed a guest feedback and received a reply. I only hope that notice has been taken of my comments.

In need of plenty of TLC

Firstly the hotel was difficult to find even with my Satnav. It is in an isolated location. Then the layout is not to everyone's taste; it being 'Motel' type layout with a separate reception/bar unit across the car park from the accommodation. The rooms are showing signs of wear, nothing specific, just a general feeling that they are in need of attention. Outside the gutters are totally choked with plants and even some trees growing in them. When it rained, the water overflowed the gutters and spilled onto the walkways below creating puddles needing careful negotiation. By the look of the damage to the asphalt, this had been going on for some time; probably years. The bar only has a limited range of beers; none of which were British. The food options were also limited. I chose Fish & Chips and wished that I hadn't. The fish was a miserable offering. A thin piece of fish sandwiched between the coating and the taste was not too appealing. My stay of Saturday night cost me £103.55, almost twice the price of the Friday night. Maybe this was a special offer, '2 nights for the price of 3'. For the standard offered, I considered this very poor value for money and I wished that I had looked elsewhere. I have stayed in many Ibis and other Accor hotels. Until earlier this year I was a Silver Card holder. We have always been happy with the Ibis standard and was expecting better from Ibis Coventry South. If this was 'Four in a Bed' and I was asked 'Would you stay here again?' My answer would be a most definite 'No'. Sorry, but this hotel is not up to the standard I expect from Ibis and Accor hotels.

We have stayed here a few years ago but this time the food was not as good ie mix and match cutlery had to ask for spoon that was smaller than the tablespoon they had out and the hot food was not very hot with bacon just about right staff obliged but it should be spot on
