Last year we stayed for one night in this hotel and were so pleased we came back this year for two weeks. We were not disappointed. There is so much to do in Normandie – William the Conqueror’s castle and birthplace at Falaise, great walks, stunning views, good restaurants, and history of the World War II Battle of Normandie which started at the D-Day landings and ended in August 1944 at the Falaise Pocket. Every single one of the hotel team, led by Anne-Sophie, is excellent. They were cheerfully helpful at all times which greatly enhanced our holiday. Our plans were fully realised – interesting activities, lots of exercise, good eating, and also some sobering remembrance of the brutal war.

As part of a group of car enthusiasts the hotel was easy to get to and had good parking facilities. It was a three minute drive into Falaise but the town could easily have been walked to in 15 minutes. The room was clean and good size with most things you needed for your stay. The downstairs common areas of the hotel were spacious and included a games area and a bar. There was a function ongoing in the evening so some areas were occasionally short of staff. There was a staff shortage on the Sunday morning which impacted the replenishment of the food selection and clearing of the tables as there was no self clear facility.

First visit to this particular Ibis but everything was as we would expect. Friendly staff, quiet room, comfy bed and pillows, parking, good meal in restaurant, good breakfast. And a great supermarket across the road!
