The least good first. It was nice to get a welcoming drink. It would be better if we could have relaxed in an armchair after a long trip to savour it as we completed formalities. The late afternoon Brigadier’s punch and canapes, what might be called happy hour now, might possibly have worked better if there were more chairs available, in a more convivial setting. Works in progress. The flooring in the bar/undercover restaurant seemed to be in a permanent state of repair. It did not affect the main seating area but seemed a trip hazard for the waiting staff and was not a good look. The lift that served 3 floors and the basement car park had a problem with slow closing doors. This was due to be remedied but not during our stay which meant the waiting time for the lift was often quite long. Emergency plumbing work was being carried out on the upper floors. The noise of drilling and hammering was quite subdued for us on the ground floor but would have been annoying higher up. All the above points are minor but taken together amount to minus one star. The good stuff. The beds were large and very soft – ‘like lying on a giant marshmallow’. The pillows, one firm and one very soft, were also very comfortable. The only downside was removing the 5 large cushions from the bed every night. The Tranquility Pool was a little cold. I used it once for about half an hour. The Mineral Pool was comfortably warmer and was used nearly every day. Neither of the pools was ever crowded. The wine appreciation and cocktail mixology sessions are recommended. I am a novice at both and took away something from each. The staff. The jewel in the crown. A sullen waitress can suck the joy out of the day before it even starts. This will never happen a the Reef House. All the staff were cheerful, helpful and smiling all day and every day. Would I go again? Yes. Would I recommend it to others? Yes again.

We found the peace so soothing. Every detail of The Reef House is delivered for guests with a quiet and unassuming perfection. We only stayed for 5 nights but we left invigorated and relaxed...felt like we had been away for a fortnight! You must have the seafood platter, the afternoon sorbet, the Brigadeer's punch and canapes, breakfast, barramundi, the cocktail making class, the Indigenous cultural presentation and the Spa gave me the best facial and massage I have ever had! We'll be back each year because we feel like we have found our ultimate 'beach house' with delightful friends who just want to look after us! Fabulous!

What an absolutely gorgeous place to call home for a week. Palm Cove is stunning, the Reef House staff are incredibly helpful & always have a smile! Breakfast juice is a hit and the food and cocktails are perfect. Do yourself a favour & stay longer than you planned!

One of the warmest and friendliest stays you’ll find anywhere in the world! These guys go out of their way to make you feel welcome and like nothing is too much trouble. Our room was overlooking the water and we could hear the waves as we slept. The adults only requirement also made this for a super relaxing visit!

Having worked as an air hostess in my younger days and staying at many hotels around the world I would say, the Reef House was almost the best for service, they could not do enough for you. The food was divine. The pool was so beautiful. You Will adore the tropical feel and I could almost feel Ernest Hemingway sitting in a chair reading somewhere near.
