A beautiful property, fantastic pool (photo attached), friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. That includes the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff. We were given the one bedroom apartment number 331. It was particularly spacious and had a very nice view over the pool areas. Everything worked except for the coffee machine but that didn't matter because I bought my own bodem. We will stay there again.

We stayed in the Studio King room with king bed and spa, the rooms very outdated. he purchased the room base on Booking.com photos and they definitely didn’t match the rooms. Whilst the rooms were clean, everything was just old loose or unmatched. Coffee machine has never been cleaned on the inside… our fridge made a loud cracking sound all night. The pool and lobby areas were nice but the building itself was riddled with spider webs, dead bugs or rusty old fittings. We arrive back at the hotel about 8pm, there was not a table or daybed around the pool area that wasn’t covered in old food plates, empty glasses or wet towels. I don’t know, maybe I’m spoiled.. but I expected more from a 5 start resort. Staff were great by the way.

The resort is beautiful, however felt the staff and service was very average. The staff weren’t overly friendly, and definitely in no rush to serve you food or drinks. Often simple drinks like soft drink would take 20 minutes and food would take at least 40 minutes, only of the days we waited an hour and 15 minutes just for two burgers. The bar was often unattended. When you would get a staff member, at times it felt like you were inconveniencing them for asking for a drink. Our room was nice, and had a beautiful view that overlooked the pool. However, our bathroom smelt like mold. The shower would flood the bathroom due to the gap under the shower door, and then the bathroom would remain flooded for a long period of time. If you put the fan on the second setting, after an hour, the fan would make a really loud noise. This meant we would have to keep the fan on a low setting throughout our stay. Additionally, we had ants in our bed and a cockroach in our bathroom. Apart from that, our room was tidy, but had to believe it is a five star resort.

The staff at this resort were wonderful, from reception to the restaurants and bars. I couldn't praise them enough, from Genji who swapped "arigato" with us (I'm not Japanese btw) to Andrew with whom I had high brow conversations. And to Karen and Natalie who also looked after us. We upgraded to a two bedroom apartment for the last four nights as we found the hotel room wasn't a place to sit back and relax. Reception were very accommodating with this move. And then, there's George, maitre de at the restaurant. I was at the bar each night just watching this legend multi task like you wouldn't believe. I couldn't possibly do what he does. Great host. The food at the restaurant was excellent as well. Thanks for a great week George.
