The hotel was nice enough, good outdoor space and the staff were friendly and helpful- in particular the Egyptian man at the front desk. The reception area smelt strongly of some kind of air spray, which wasn't pleasant. The corridor to our room had ants crawling across it but thankfully they were not in our room. I stayed in a privilege room, which was decent, but the water was very slow to go down in the bathroom sink and shower and the shower spray was very volatile. The toiletries seemed watered down and the bathroom, although clean, had marks on the sink and tap. I am a silver tier member and requested a late checkout and I was offered until 2pm, when in other hotels, I am offered until 5pm and I later found out that 2pm is the standard checkout for a privilege room, so nothing extra was offered. The location was OK and it was good enough for a one night stay, but I'm not sure if I would stay here again.

Very enjoyable stay, pity about room cleaning policy

Shanklintowers Couples - TripAdvisor review

We have just return for a very nice few days at the Mercure hotel Milton Keynes and we’re very impressed. The room was very nice and we found all of the staff extremely helpful. We had very good food in the restaurant and the setting of the hotel was lovely. The only thing we couldn’t understand was the Hotel’s policy for servicing the rooms. The rooms are only serviced every three days, so as we were only there for 2 days we didn’t get our room serviced. We booked a four star hotel in order that things are done for us and that you are well looked after. We know that things have been difficult with staffing levels particularly after Brexit, but if we had wanted to look after ourselves we would have booked a self catering break, not a 4 star hotel and although we highly rate the hotel we sadly do not feel we could stay again as being looked after is precisely the reason you choose to stay in an hotel.

I’ve actually stayed at this hotel before while visiting Silverstone and I had a similar experience last time unfortunately which is a real shame because the staff are very friendly. The carpet tiles in the bedroom are dirty and definitely need a good steam clean. But worst of all is the fly infestation in the bathrooms. I was staying in room 112 and there were a lot of dead flies on the floor and stains on the tiles. This hotel definitely needs some serious TLC

Very well looked after

The hotel is easy to find with ample parking. Everyone was very helpful and in particular Natalie at Reception on arrival. The room was wonderfully quiet and the bed very comfortable. Dinner was excellent and compliments to Chef.
