Nice but will be even nicer

I was there not for the first time. Nice hotel on a nice city. Big parking available for a small fee. 20 minutes walk to the old town. I wasn’t lucky - because of high demand could not use room upgrade nor late checkout. Thanks to the receptionist next day, I got one hour late checkout which helped a lot. Young guy the first day was not that friendly - he simply said this was not possible… Nice breakfast Comfort room not too big but sufficient. Very clean. More rooms like that will be available soon as there are some renovation works going on. There is a warning about renovation noise during working hours but did not hear anything. Will happily return…

Good potential but disapointed

On a positive side, breakfast was pretty nice, well managed by hotel team and swimming pool very convenient for swimming and kids. On a less positiv side, most of the photos online shows the renovated rooms of the hotel, but most of them are actually not done yet and pretty ageing. In our room it was smelling very badly cigarettes, and when I asked to change room or at least a spray to clean the smell, the only answser we got was "no, there is nothing we can do for you, just open the windows " (knowing that it was close to 30 degrees outside and there is no air-conditioning in the hotel).

Not worth the money or the brand

The hotel is dated and standard rooms have no air conditioning and need renovating. This is not worth the Mercure brand or the money.
