Noisy and Tiny rooms

Note TripAdvisor 4.0/5

The construction near by makes it unpleasant before 3 pm. Room was pretty tiny. I would not stay again. Plenty of better places. Zero atmosphere compared to other Sebels. Parking and access difficult. Rooms well equipped. You get the idea.

We chose this dog friendly hotel because we were staying in Canberra to attend the Floriade Dogs Day Out with our pooch. We stayed in a large self contained suite on the Mezzanine level with a lovely view of a beautiful courtyard. It had everything you could possibly need if you want to be self sufficient during your stay (just no room service). We chose to eat out and were spoilt for choice with so many dog friendly cafe's and restaurants, all within a few minutes walk. The hotel is located across the street from a large park where dogs were able to run and play unleashed. Parking is under the hotel at $25 per day with a lift that takes you directly up to the hotel's Reception desk. The gentlemen at Reception who checked us in and out were warm and welcoming and we really look forward to staying at this hotel again.

Good location, nice furnishings, good stay for a couple nights.

Yes, as mentioned in approximately 1/2 of the reviews online for this place, parking is an issue. The biggest problem is there is actually no allowance for anywhere to park for a few minutes to check-in. There is plenty of street parking around, but it is seemingly constantly 100% occupied. We lucked into finding a spot a couple blocks away to check-in, and then paid for the parking garage access, and from then on it's fine. After that, the niceness of the room was a pleasant surprise. Having a washer/dryer in the room (not sure if this is in every room or not) sure helped in the middle of a road-trip. The location is very convenient, there is plenty of restaurants and things within a walkable distance, and (once parking secured) it is fairly easy to drive to things like the museum etc. If not known already, this isn't a full-service type of hotel, there isn't even anyone around 24 hours, so don't expect Ritz-Carlton treatment. But otherwise a perfectly acceptable place for a couple nights.

Well appointed room in small hotel in quiet location

New hotel, very comfortable - a decent sized room which was very well appointed. Room came with a desk, washing machine, ironing facilities and the a galley kitchen which came with a small electric stovetop, microwave, Nespresso machine etc. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. Decent bathroom. Everything was nice and clean. It’s only a small hotel (unusually small for a Sebel) with minimal lobby area and just a single staff member on reception until 10pm. Efficient checkin and express checkout service which I was happy to use. There is a handful of cafes, plus a pizza hut and a noodle place, within a short walk from the Sebel. The Campbell shops. including a supermarket, are a 20 minute walk away. If you need to be in this part of Canberra, then it’s a very good choice. I was very happy with the quality of the hotel for its price range.

Excellent place to stay
