Fabulous location and views however feeling special as an Accor Member is not their specialty anymore. No welcome card or little gifts that were once a feature ! Talking of menu, the breakfast has lost its appeal as well. No bircher muesli; a 30 minute wait for an omlette that had to be returned to the kitchen due to it not being cooked properly and poached eggs that looked like soup, again after a 30 minute wait ! Even muffins had to be asked for whereas in the past food was automatically replenished when they had run out. Management had clearly underestimated the number of diners as only two restaurant staff were doing everything while would be attenders were lined up and waiting to be accommodated. Limited number of cups for a morning tea and no flavored yoghurt let alone bread. Just about everything had to be asked for and it was only 9.00am ! Not the experience of previous stays and enough to make us go elsewhere the next day for breakfast!

Enjoyed everything from the moment we step in to the moment we stepped out . Staff we courteous polite . Buffet was fresh and delicious and our room was beautiful with amazing views . We live in NSW and love to return and stay with you in the future .

Had an unexpected short stay in Devonport and was lucky enough to get a very last minute reservation at the Novotel, had a Superior Ocean View King Bed room which was all that was available at the time but we were just happy to have somewhere to stay. A very new hotel less than 18 months old I believe at the time we stayed. Room was excellent, vary spacious, well decorated, great facillities throughout and the view was great. All the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly. There is an onsite restaurant on the ground level, due to our late afternoon arrival we didn't dine in, I assume would have been fully booked anyway but fortunately room service was an option. Being a busy night in the restaurant our meals took about an hour to arrive as the restaurant was very busy...so fair enough!! Food was tasty and greatly appreciated we'd had a long day. There are phones in the guest room but also an option to use an online food ordering system too. Overall very happy we were able to stay at the Novotel, I don't think it would be essential to upgrade to the room we had to have as it was a last minute booking I imagine the quality of all grades of rooms in the hotel are very good throughout. PARKING TIPS: Prior to the stay I has assumed there was some self parking and Valet parking on the hotel site, as we drove past with the hotel on our right I saw what I thought may have been underground parking, went to turn in but then saw a barrier gate that I think said 'Valet Parking" on it so I had to assume staff access only and swung back out onto the main road (Best St) and drove around the block instead. There is in fact a fairly new looking public car park about one block up from the Novotel near the corners of Best & Fenton Streets which is the nearest place to self park. If you want to valet park you need to pull up on the relatively small forecourt off street at the hotels front doors, it was very full when we arrived (6pm ish) so had to drive round the block a few times before we could find a space. Overall the parking on arrival if you've never stayed here before is the thing that's most likely to stress you out, hopefully my review offers some decent advice. OVERALL I would recommend The Novotel and would happily stay here again, great location, convenient for shops and cafes etc and as previously mentioned staff very nice.

Central location

Generally a good place but a few quibbles. Central location but that meant parking was painful, $100 for 4 night stay ($10 per day dearer then Hobart Travelodge). Revolving door was not working on arrival and othwr doors shut, I had to read instruction on how to enter. Reception was a weird 2 desk set up & staff appeared more interested in a private conversation then welcoming new guests. Another time I overheard them gossiping about another staff member or possibly a guest. The "restaurant" felt like an afterthought, as welcoming as a ramen kiosk at a train station. The rooms were small but clean and quiet from most street noise but younger guest were running up and down the halls making a lot of noise inside the hotel, I advised reception & they said no one else had complained but followed me up in the next lift and told the young guests (some kind of marching band) to return to their rooms or use the more appropriate common areas to gather. They departed the next day but other younger guest also ran along the hallways on later dates. We used some of the toiletries (feminine hygiene bags) these were not refilled & the bathroom waste bin was not emptied, this was our second last day so we hope the next guest got a freshened up room.

Wow, what a lovely hotel to stay at. Reception check-in went smoothly. Car parking is $25 valet. Room size is reasonable. We were given a handicapped room, larger bathrooms, and beds are a little lower. I think it's an interconnecting room, with a table and chair, in front of it. Nice big window to see the Spirit of Tasmania come and go. Everything in the room was functional. Lovely fresh room. Went for dinner at Mr Good Guy. Asian influence. The chef Binoe was outstanding. I'm not sure what you would have if you didn't like Asian food? Definitely would stay here again.
