This review would have been so much better if only the management had bothered to answer the 3 emails I sent. No reply from any management from my stay on 5th November .. the second time I emailed I asked if anyone was receiving them as concerned they had gone to a junk box but had a reply and was assured they were all being forwarded to the management team . Still nothing to date 29th Dec.. in addressing my health and safety concerns after I took a heavy fall and sustained grade 2 ligament damage to my ankle … see photos for the dreadful step that really is very dangerous on the landing / corridor to the stair case from room 118 I think .. I was after nothing from the hotel even though I am still paying for physio and in pain , just wanted them to address this as if an elderly person had fallen they could have been hospitalised . I went to reception and in fairness the girl tried to be helpful but could only bring me ice cubes wrapped in a napkin.. no ice pack ? No first aid box or first aider ? All that aside the hotel was ok .. nothing special .. the air-con /heater in my room was like a plane running its engines.. the pizza I had was very good , breakfast was excellent .. so my feelings on my stay .. well if only someone had bothered to answer my concerns , the hotel management really need to sort out their customer service and until they do I won’t be back or recommend this hotel

We stayed a night and found the Hotel to be very comfortable.The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant and the food was very good. The cooked breakfast was a bit of a letdown however there were plenty of continental selections. The Hotel is located in a residential area and a short bus ride to central Oxford. We would have no hesitation to stay here again. Thank you Ali

We went to Oxford for 5 days in early December, spending 4 nights at Hawkwell House in Iffley Village, a short ride from central Oxford. Our room was large, spacious, beautifully set out and scrupulously clean. All the staff were kind and on top of everything. Breakfast was delicious. My husband loves a large breakfast - had full English every morning and raved about it. I like bread and coffee, and was just as satisfied with both. We had dinner there two nights -- the Chef is just GREAT! Delicious everything. Even though the hotel had nightly Christmas parties for local businesses, we were able to sleep and read without any interference whatsoever. Shout out to Wendy, at breakfast, who made an already nice time even nicer. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. (P/s - we did not drive in but we're able to get everywhere by local bus or taxi since Iffley Village is not far but is so tranquil and lovely.)

Great overnight stay. Stayed on business and found its location perfect for my work in the city area I am in. Room was lovely and fresh. Evening meal my choice was fish and chips, yummy very fresh fish. Breakfast buffet was also very nice. Staff attentive and friendly. This my now go to regular hotel in Oxford. Perfect

A fabulous overnight stay with 12 friends to celebrate Christmas. The staff were amazing. We had a private dining room and enjoyed a fabulous 3 course dinner. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the overall experience was amazing. Breakfast was varied and again the staff worked very hard. Thank you
