Had a great time here. Lovely hotel, feels like it's in the country but is actually very close to the city. Free and easy parking, lovely staff, clean rooms with everything you need and a comfy bed

Very Poor 'Privilege' Room

We booked a 'privilege' (upgraded) room for our three night break in Oxford. Turns out the only privilege was getting a dungeon room with no windows and was damp and located adjacent to the goods in entrance. The room was unbelievably poorly designed offering no windows only a roof light with a blind that opened and closed itself randomly at all hours of the day & night. All our clothes smelled damp and the room had appallingly inadequate lighting. Our room number was 111 which seemed to be in an extension to the hotel, so I cannot comment on other rooms in the original part of the building. The shame of it is that the staff, on the whole (except the miserable bar tender), were friendly and helpful. However the buffet breakfast was poor with lots of things unavailable or had clearly been kept 'hot' for far too long A reasonable location but do not be fooled by the pictures of the outside of the hotel, it looks nothing like these and is in fact located on a suburban street, not in a country setting as suggested

Called in for a drink

We just had a drink in the bar as we were staying elsewhere in Iffley. Friendly and welcoming staff. Imaginatively decorated throughout, we shall book a room next time and stay here. Nice, quiet location in a pretty village on the edge of Oxford city centre.

Always a pleasure even on business. Polite friendly staff, lovely food. Meticulous service. Highly recommend. This was my 3rd visit to accommodate working in oxford. I have tried a few others but this is definitely the best for the price ..

Stayed with 3 other couples in February. Surrounding areas very nice for walking. Reception and dining rooms are well presented and relaxing. Our room was like a fridge when first checked in and it took quite a while to warm up. That said it was clean and modern. Initially there were no sandwiches available on the menu for lunch, more so meals, however after a bit of talking to the chef we were soon rustled up some light bites, which were still a little expensive though. Breakfast was really good with the usual selections, fyi eggs are cooked to order. Big shout out to Wendy, she was very polite, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A true asset to the hotel. We would return sometime in the future.
