So we arrived early Monday morning, our room wasn’t ready (not their fault) but we expected them to hold our bags in a locked room. They were literally thrown at the back wall in the middle of the lobby for anyone to take. Then when we did get up to our room, both exhausted, we seen one of our pillows had blood on it. We brought this to the attention of the receptionist and no apology was given. Once that was sorted we finally tried to get some sleep only to find loud construction directly outside our window which we were never once informed about. We had to ration toilet paper because we always arrived home late to find the maid service didn’t refill the toilet roll. There was no soap for washing hands and shower gel ran out after day one. Then trying to have a shower and the shower head came off as we lifted it from the holder. Weren’t expecting too much from this hotel but still left very underwhelmed. Small box rooms that aren’t clean, staff that aren’t particularly nice or helpful & missing the basic necessities. Would definitely rethink your choice

Ibis is building or renovating a few hotels in Singapore. The one I stayed is on Sims street between Kallang and Aljunied MRT stations. I did ask how come the second floor rooms don't have double pane windows seeing that the traffic is just feets away. The front desk said the reason was the building is a heritage site so can't change, however, it's probably possible to add another pane of glass from the inside. For those sensitive to noise should book higher floor rooms or rooms not facing the busy street. The bathroom has two flaws, one is that it's small so that one has to stand aside after opening so as to be able to push the door closed to get to the toilet. The second is that during a shower the water will flow toward the drain near the toilet although one can reduce that by building a towel dam but the bath mat towel is not long enough. This is not too big a deal as one can use the floor mat towel to soak up the water and wring it out three or four times. A curious room feature is that there is a 3 or 4 inch wide foam divider that wedges between the two twin beds and sticks 4 or so inches above the beds. That said, this hotel had a promotional arrangement with a restaurant next door for free breakfast. Not sure how long this promotion will last. The hotel location is great for fruit lovers as there are fruit stands within a few hundred feet where one can sit down to eat durian. In my three days stay I bought two Kg of mangosteen, one Kg of rambutan and ate two small durians each costing only 5 SIN dollars. The stands provide plastic gloves. Nearby are many food places including two Vietnamese restaurants, also quite a few seafood places, Indian food places, local food places (meaning open outdoor dining with cooling by fans)

We checked into our room. It had a strong smell of smoke like someone had been smoking in there. We left the AC on for 1.5 hours (no windows) to see if it helped but it didn’t. So we asked to change our room to a new one. They let us change quickly and easily. Both rooms were tiny. We didn’t have room for suitcases and both of us so it was tricky to move around the room without having to rearrange the suitcases to get the toilet. We definitely didn’t see photos with a good depiction of the size of the rooms. It’s a shame they don’t provide hand soap for the bathroom either.

I stayed here during Christmas and tariffs do not justify the facilities provided here. Rooms are very very small, you can barely move inside the room. There is no wardrobe but they have given 2 hangers to hang your clothes on wall. Bathrooms are very small. TV remote did not work during our entire stay. Its not easily visible from the road so, you are more likely to miss it in your first pass. There are many good things though, Reception staff is courteous and they helped us in the early check-in and car booking. Room is serviced every day but you need to tell them if bed covers to be changed. Very near to Little India MRT and Rochor MRT. Bus stop is right outside the Hotel.

It was a quick one-night stay, a quick in and out. ibis budget Singapore Selegie was the perfect solution. A 5 minute walk from the nearest MRT station (Rocher is closest although a little hard to find with the construction going on), it's easy to find. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. It's budget, so no frills. My room was clean, bright, and quiet. My bed was comfortable, the air conditioning unobtrusive. It even included a breakfast buffet with all the basics: baked beans, eggs, fruit, juice etc. I'd stay there again.
