It didn’t start off the way I had expected it. As a regular guest at the Swissotel the Stamford Singapore, I dare to say I know what to expect every time I check-in at L65. I would trouble a lobby staff to take me up to L65 to check-in and the staff would usually excuse himself or herself and return to the lobby. However this was not the case when I last stayed here in January 2026. The lady (Ms C) who escorted me up to L65 eventually stayed behind to chit-chat with the only staff on duty (Ms J). As a result the check-in process took longer than usual while I was left to my own devices. The other alternative was to eavesdrop on their chatter, animated laughter and high-pitched giggles. Normally, the staff manning the counter would welcome the guest and offer a drink while the guest waited. Being distracted, I’m left on my own for a good 20 minutes to wait at a table before I spotted and approached Ms Rhea to ask for a drink as there were only the technical team around. When Ms J was finally ready to pass me my room key, she actually said she doesn’t think I needed her to tell me the details regarding breakfast and happy hour. After that, she hurried back to continue her conversation with Ms C who was then seated comfortably behind a terminal (while she was also there on the following afternoon, she ignored guests who were streaming in and out of the lounge). I was assigned Room 6256. I am not sure if I have been upgraded because Ms J did not mention anything. When I entered the room, the welcome amenities were left on the table with a welcome letter. That perhaps was the only ‘welcome’ I’d received for this stay. Fortunately not all is lost. The rest of the L65 team has been fabulous as they have always been. Mr Cherry looks after us (as well as all the other L65 guests)really well — especially during the evening cocktail hours. The young father is a super attentive and humorous man. Ms Ice makes me feel like an old friend who is back for a visit. And, Ms Rhea remembers our drink order! And there are so many guests. And, of course, the ever-energetic Ms Eddy also spends time listening to my grouses. She is truly a people-person and an exemplary leader to the staff in L65. She really makes me feel that the hotel appreciates my business and I know I will continue coming here for my staycations. In fact, I am thinking of a stay in May and another one in August. While customer recognition has little to do with the membership tier of the guest, how the staff treats the customers as a whole does. Hotel staff are the brand ambassadors and the representatives of the values that the hotel embodies. Way after some of the likes of Ms J and Ms C have moved on to work in another property or in another field, some of the loyal Accor members will still be visiting and staying at the hotel. It pays therefore to remember that the hotel guests are paying for their stay and learn to treat their time with respect.

I have stayed at Swissôtel The Stamford many times over the years and know the hotel very well by now. Over time, I have also recommended it to friends and family, which speaks for itself. What stands out to me is the consistency. Whether staying in a room or in a suite, the standard has always been very high. The rooms and suites are well maintained, feel modern and almost new, and are very comfortable. One of the main reasons I continue to choose this hotel is the view. It is breathtaking every time. The view over the city and Marina Bay is a central part of the experience for me. A regular part of my stays is the Executive Lounge on Level 65, where check in and check out are handled personally in a calm and relaxed setting. The lounge is spacious and comfortable, with a good selection of food at breakfast and during the evening cocktail hours. The service in the lounge is consistently friendly and attentive. Cheary, with his good mood and reliable service, and Zai, who always made sure my wine glass was never empty, are just two of many examples. Over time, several other staff members have also left a very positive impression, more than could reasonably be listed here. Another clear advantage is the location. With direct access to the MRT station beneath the hotel, getting around Singapore is easy and convenient. Overall, this is a hotel I know well and feel comfortable choosing again. It offers reliability, comfort and a consistently good level of service. I will gladly come back.

Zhen Qiang did a great job of keeping our room very clean and neat. it was greatly appreciated. She did the evening turn down service and fresh slippers, emptied the trash regularly, and kept our room pleasant to be in. We give a BIG THANK YOU to her!
