Pleasant stay in a spacious, modern hotel

I recently stayed 4 nights at the Mercure Krakow Fabryczna City hotel on a business trip, and enjoyed the experience. I found my room to be spacious, quiet and clean, and the bathroom well-equipped. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful, and the breakfast spread was huge with many options. Admittedly you’re a fair distance from the Old Town and Jewish Quarter, but you’ll never have to wait too long for a taxi. I didn’t explore the tram network, though I know it’s substantial, so that’d probably be a solution for getting to the more touristy areas. I didn’t use the pool or fitness suite though colleagues who did, were quite impressed. The hotel felt fairly equidistant between Krakow Airport and say the Old Town. The only minor niggles I had were that the door deadlock on room 206 seemed to endlessly rotate making it hard to know if it was engaged. Also, the bedside tables were hollow metal sheet, so made a pinging sound if a charging cable or something made contact with it. Finally, if you wanted a drink from the chiller cabinet in reception, you had to trouble a receptionist to unlock the cabinet, then you returned to their station to pay, which all seemed a little inefficient? All in all a great experience, and I’d happily stay there again.

Visited this hotel for a few nights. The hotel its self is fabulous, overall complex of the property is exceptionally modern and clean. The housekeeping staff couldn’t be anymore polite and pristine. The pool area is very well signed and clean. The hotel restaurant is good. Breakfast is just ok can definitely up their standards in this area however the evening a la carte menu is good. Reception staff require a lot more training, believe the young gentleman is doing quite a good job however he needs to provide more information to guests when they inquire additional information. Ilona however, certainly needs to attend a customer service course she is the one who has checked us in, we received the most unwelcoming checking in process regardless how polite we were. What got me the most was when she said “your room is in the second half of the hotel on the fourth floor” leaving me an my partner absolutely confused as the hotel isn’t very well sign posted.

Comfortable hotel, not really for tourists

Stayed a few nights in this hotel on a work trip and the stay was comfortable and functional. Starting with location first, a bit out of the way. Not suited for any casual tourist hoping to take in the old town or those with limited time. It is located in a business park, with a few restaurants, bars and small supermarkets nearby, nothing else really. You either need to know your way with the tram or need an Uber to get here. The check-in process was a little awkward, waited in a queue and once I got to the desk, the guy was having issues logging in. The rest of the process with Karolina was smooth. Rooms - very spacious and modern. Almost felt like an apart-hotel, small kitchen facilities (hob, mini-fridge, microwave, espresso coffee machine). Bed was comfortable, standard EU power plugs with the bonus of USB charging ports. Bathroom was equally spacious. The stand-out feature though was the fitness facilities (not 100% for hotel guests but shared with locals either in a club or paying to enter). Clean changing room, locker and towels provided and a very nice and clean swimming pool. Go off peak and you won't be rushed. Breakfast was rather standard fare, decent range but nothing stood out. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was fine, not much traditional choice which was a little surprising.

Very modern and nice hotel. Good location, only takes 20 minutes to be in the old town (10min walk, 10min by the tram) The location in general is very modern and everything looks new. Tasty breakfast, nice little pool area and friendly staff - can‘t complain at all.

Absolutely disgusting customer service

Decided to move to a supposedly lovely hotel for 2 nights as thought would be lovely treat for my son as had a big gym and pool, how wrong was I.... we checked in on Saturday night I had called ahead to check availability and price for 2 nights as was leaving on the Monday. The lady on reception told me the price and we went straight over to check in. She took us to the room and we confirmed the price and that it included breakfast, all good. That was until we returned on the Sunday evening after visiting the salt mines that day to not being able to get into our room. We went to reception and they told us we should of checked out that day!!! We were no we booked for 2 nights why would we not when not going home till Monday?? The receptionist said could she ring the lady who we booked with and she told me there was a mistake made and was sorry but we had to PAY another night... Omg was so upset not my fault but still expected to pay, spoke to the general manager and someone higher Joanne I think she was absolutely awful would not listen at all just wanted the money!!!! What kind of customer care NONE i would say. My husband who is disabled and my son 16 were gobsmacked at their total lack of empathy. They had all our belongings locked in the room we were in and we felt we had no choice but to pay as had nowhere to go, cant tell you how upset we were just ruined out trip through absolutely no fault of our own. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL IF U WANT GOOD CUSTOMER CARE. Just because Mecure are a big chain doesn't mean good at all in anyway or form.

I would like to inform you that on the day of your arrival, the receptionist confirmed with you the price for one night only – the room which was chosen was one of our best. Due to the fact that the hotel was almost fully occupied on that day, the price was quite high. We provide all our Guest with the same prices that are available on our main website, so each time we encourage our Guests to check the prices as well as available rooms, so that the Guests could choose the room in accordance to their preferences. Upon the check-in all our Guest are obliged to sign the registration form – the price for first night is also available there, so our Guest may double-check all the details while signing it. As I wrote above – we are sorry for the inconvenience, however we did our best to resolve that case. After consulting the case with the General Manager, you received 20% discount for the second night though the hotel properly completed all the procedures connected with your reservation. It is our main aim to help all our Gests with finding the proper solution and so we did in your case. We truly hope that beside the described misunderstanding you enjoyed our hotel as well as the whole Fabryczna 13 complex and we invite you to visit us again soon.
