The SLS is a nice property overall but the hotel experience was not up to par. Not quite what I expect from the SLS brand and I would not recommend this hotel. The service is great but the property doesn’t provide a good experience. It was not relaxing and restful at all and overall just not a good vacation. Pros: Excellent service. The hotel car service was great and front desk staff was excellent; they were ready as soon as we got to the hotel with an early check in. The hotel managers and wait staff were also very courteous and personable. The Rooms are very nice and the oceanfront suite was modern, and spacious. Very nice bathrooms with robes and slippers. Turn down service is also provided. Nice large balconies on the ocean side. The property itself has great décor and is well kept, including the hotel pool, lobby, and beach club. The food at the main restaurant was very good; however, it’s the only option for dinner and the menu is tiny so you'll need to find other dining options outside the hotel. The beach club was also very good and has a nice lunch menu Cons: Being on the 2nd floor it was unfortunately a bit loud at night with folks hanging outside at the beach. Even with the balconies closed fully we could still hear the chatter outside, which was unfortunate. There was also lots of noise from the hallway in the morning as well. We could hear every footstep, every voice, every door slamming in the hallway throughout our stay. Overall the rooms are just not very quiet and I did not get good rest, which is important on vacation. And it was more of the same on night two, we just had no insulation from the music blaring from outside. Ther was not a quiet peaceful moment to be found at this hotel. Also has to listen to dogs barking from other units (there’s a lot of dogs on the property). The pool for the hotel guests is nice but very small; the resident pool is much larger. The Beach club area is very nice but also a bit crammed. Tough to relax with so many other conversations, cigar smoke, dogs, pet parrots (yes you read that right), etc. A little more spacing would go a long way. Locals can also buy day passes so I'm sure that contributes to the crowd on weekends. It was much more quiet and less chaotic during the week. The hotel also has more of a family environment (lots of kids and dogs etc.) probably because of the residences but not exactly what I expect or am used to from the SLS brand. There’s many more local families than hotel guests and lots of small children. Felt a little bit out of place at times. Think like endless squeaking of rubber ducks levels of children and kids throwing footballs and jumping in the pool. We couldn't enjoy the pool at all. Meanwhile there's a giant resident only pool that was near empty our entire stay. There kids unsurprised in the pool shouting back and forth to their parents on the beach disturbing everyone. Instead of splitting pools between residents and guests it'd be much better to just have a family pool and adults only pool, like many other hotels and resorts do. Another issue we had is a lot of smoking on the property pretty much everywhere including the beach, pool, and balcony. Cigarettes and cigars were common. We couldn't open our balcony doors as soon as we did our room was filled with disgusting cigarette smoke from an adjacent room. The folks next to us were smokers and it completely ruined any chance we had to enjoy our oversized balcony, even with the doors closed we still had some odors of cigarette smoke in our room to the point that we couldn't even relax and enjoy the room. It was really disgusting and disappointing that the property isn't smoke free. For the sake of other guests, it should be. We actually walked out of the room and you could smell the cigarette smoke in the hallway all the way down to the elevator it was so bad. I asked the front desk if they could ask him to stop, which either he didn't or they disregarding because after dinner he was back on the balcony lighting up. The building is also very close to the beach so you get no sun in the afternoon at the beach or pools. Beach sure to go to the beach nice and early to get the most sun. It’s definitely not the nicest beach in Cancun either. Fairly rocky and lots of seaweed but it is private. Another miss was the car service to the mall nearby at the Marina. The driver mentioned when picking us up it was only a courtesy because of the rain. Which is kind of weird; not sure if he was looking for a tip, which I would've given anyway but the hotel should not advertise a service and then make us feel bad for utilizing it. The hotel staff and service saved it for us otherwise it would have been a complete negative stay. The hotel staff planned a nice celebration for my wife's birthday and did a really good job.

We loved every moment, leynia restaurant in the hotel has a great menu, delicious breakfast and bungalow by the beach has great drinks and service. The hot stones massage at the spa was the best, the crew did a really good job! It felt like home !! My husband, three kids and myself had a great time

Amazing stay with my son

I was a bit sceptical staying there because I had a bad experience at the SLS Miami but Im happy that I gave the SLS Cancun a chance because we had an amazing stay. It was the first time in Mexico for my son and he loved it. The staff was very attentive and helpful because I was by myself with my son. They gave him duckies to play with and a waterball. The rooms are so spacious and very well designed. Amazing and big bathroom. We had a stunning view from our balcony overlooking the pool area and the beach. The food in the restaurant was delious. Overall a great experience and we will be back!

Great getaway for my wife and I. Stylish, Refined, Personal

The SLS experience was exceptional. A relaxing, stylish and personal touch atmosphere all around. The location was great as it separated us from the tourist mainstream and traffic of Cancun Hotel Zone. From the start, Samuel (hotel manager) helped my wife and I correct a booking issue and he set the tone for us. It was a rejuvenating excursion for us. Honorable mention for the concierge gentlemen, Andy and Eric, who were very accommodating in destination recommendations, restaurants, setting up reservations and helping with transportation. The pool, beach, restaurant and services were all top notch. There is no doubt that we will return for more getaways.

my partner and I spent 13 nights in this hotel, I would go again! you can reach everything well from the sls hotel, cabs etc everything is right! even the safety We thank everyone but most of all to :julio who has helped us since day 1 even when my partner got sick in the middle of the night, he has recommended us many beautiful places that have made our vacations unforgettable! thank you julio:) for beeing our vacation buddy. another big thank you goes to rafael who always welcomed us at the pool with a big smile and funny jokes! and also accompanied us like that.
