Service from Dean and Yuen was personable and efficient. Hake and Rafi was lovely. I avoid hotel restaurants but this was excellent. The atmosphere is less sterile than most hotels and there is a warm and friendly atmosphere. I’d come again.

Visited the Restaurant and the service was quick and the staff were very friendly and attentive, I had the Chicken burger and the food was well cooked and piping hot. Chicken was very juicy and tender and the chips were well salted and golden in colour.

Spent a night here, with breakfast included. The hotel is easy to find on an industrial park near the centre of Telford. It is a typical 1980s/90s build - architecturally uninspiring to look at but inside it was OK. It looks as if the rooms and reception have been updated in the last few years. The room had a spacious double bed, a table and chair and large TV. The bathroom was clean and had a walk in shower (no bath). Our room overlooked the car park and nearby ring road and got a bit noisy with traffic at breakfast time. The walls are a bit thin and I could hear someone coughing in the next room when I woke up in the early hours. The pool area is definitely in need of redecoration, with stained ceiling tiles and rusting metalwork. It is quite dark with no ceiling lights, although the pool itself is lit OK. The pool was heated to a decent temperature and the hot tub was very hot! One issue was that we couldn’t use the lockers in the changing rooms as they require a padlock, and we weren’t offered one at the fitness centre reception when we checked in. We had our evening meal at the bar - it was pretty decent and reasonable value - around £25 for an adult main and child. There is a pool table which costs £2 per game, but the area in which the tables are located has nearby walls and pillars which makes taking shots from some angles impossible. The breakfast was OK, but by the time we got down some of the hot food looked as if it had been sitting around for some time. One other thing is that they have introduced a £10 per night charge for parking, so bear that in mind. In summary: it was OK, but I wouldn’t return.

Stayed here once again on business, clean room, room checked and cleaned everyday thoroughly and excellent room service, thankyou mercure! Friendly helpful staff. Will be back in the new year on another business trip, always a 10/10 stay
