Great location for the Hippodrome and the Bull Ring. In the Chinese quarter so plenty of places to eat. Hotel was clean and fresh but the walls are paper thin. We could hear the couple next door put down their toilet seat!

The rooms were brilliant, liked having coffee / tea in the room , bed was very comfortable, good pillows , and then the breakfast wow what a selection, the staff were amazing , specially breakfast staff , Raju I think his name was , excellent member of staff

I stayed at Ibis last year when I went to a concert at the NEC, and it was a fantastic city-centre option. Therefore, I thought of the Ibis when I entered the Great Birmingham Run; I knew public transport would be a pain so why not book an evening here for less stress? I needed to contact front-desk before my arrival to enquire about a late check-out on the day of the race, and I was able to do this after my online check-in. It wouldn't have been the end of the world had it not been available, but it ensured I could get a shower and a drink before my journey home no matter what state I was in (plus I could leave my weighty overnight bag securely in the room). Late checkout will give you an extra four hours, which is very convenient for airports, late trains, runners or matinee performance attendants etc. The room (221) was spotless. There's a good-sized work desk, plenty of plug-sockets, a TV, a hospitality tray with tea and coffee, two body-towels, a fabric shower mat, and a wardrobe alcove with hangers. The ensuite has its own window, good lighting and a decent power shower. The bed was a little firmer than I'm usually used to, but there were extra pillows in the wardrobe should I have needed them. Breakfast was once again lovely. It's self-serve, and there's plenty on offer. I didn't eat during the evening (there's some fantastic eateries in Chinatown) but the prices looked reasonable and there's a full bar. The Ibis staff were, as always, friendly and attentive from reception staff to housekeeping. Catarina and Sakshi were helpful and responded promptly if I needed to e-mail beforehand. The keycards can be a bit of a pain as they do have a tendency to lose their 'charge', but reception will sort this out for you straight away if it's an issue. You're in the heart of Chinatown and near a few nightclubs as well as the city centre. Great for accessibility, but of course there will be noise and activity! There's a double-window system which will help deaden some of it, and some good thick curtains to shut out the light. Heard a few clubbers returning in the wee hours (as you would) but they were respectful enough. If you have any problems Ibis do provide a WhatsApp number that you can use to contact reception. Anyway, I've already signed up for the half-marathon in 2026 so this won't be my last stay at Ibis New Street. See you all next year!

Our check in was quick no hanging around and the lift could only be used to leave the lobby once your room key card was swiped making it secure. The room was small but had everything needed for our overnight stay including tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer. The shower was a decent size with plenty of hot water and the shampoo/ body wash were provided. Breakfast the next morning was great lots of options and a cooked buffet selection which was delicious. Raou looked after us at breakfast explaining where things were etc and cleared away after us he was pleasant and friendly and did an excellent job of looking after us. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay here again

absolutely amazing service! thank you to rafu for providing us with an excellent breakfast service 10/10 would recommend. the room itself was great, had a nice view of china town from the window and the hotel itself is not far from the bullring, train station etc
