Friendly and helpful staff. Great location and comfortable room. Breakfast meal was okay, but not great. I think some of the flooring will require replacement soon. Also, my wife and I had a great massage by Tara.

hotel seemed tired. One of the highlights of 21C stays are the amenities like Merlin + Goetz soaps and lotion— that's all gone now because we are no longer afforded the opportunity to take a small memento of our stay home with us. There was water in my room offered with the proviso that they aluminum cans can be refilled. So, are these used cans that you are offering me? have they been refilled and resealed? and the coffee unit— NiCE! but no coffee pods in the room? Should there have been? Is this a sign that the niceties are too expensive? That the great brand of 21C can't afford small acts of generosity? evidence that the hotel staff is tired just like the hotel building itself? And in the immediate area of the Durham 21C good coffee was really lacking— a great coffee pod in room would have saved a lot of walking and considerable disappointment. Your art was amazing as usual—striking, powerful, evocative. One day I will visit you again and you will be featuring an artist that has a bright spirit and positive outlook — and they too will have something to say through their art. Maybe one day. Keep up the god fight. Don't give in on being different but please don't abandon a sense of generosity— its what made you a masterpiece.

This is the best place to stay in Durham. Located downtown with easy access to DPAC, great restaurants and other events. The accommodation are great with a restaurant and a bar inside the hotel.
