Interesting place to stay. Art was interesting. Front desk staff were great. It was a Monday so everything was very quiet. Only wish that I e had been a bit more accessible. Hotel felt a little shut down with restaurant closed and check in at lobby.

I spent two nights in 1403. The hotel and staff remain great, and the location is excellent. Beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are large with excellent water pressure, and the HVAC system works well. Only complaint is that a lot of noise came through from 1405, the adjoining room that shared a door.

Wife choose 21C for our 10th anniversary; had two nights but I canceled the second night wife not feeling great on the first night. Unfortunately, she woke up early next morning approximately at 5am not feeling worse, so we checked out immediately and I took her home, out of precaution related to Covid 19. I told her to cancel her spa and just move to another date. They would not allow cancellation or if she moved to another date 21C would still charge for the original day?? She informed them she was sick and wanted to cancel because she was not feeling well and Covid precautions, but they just replied we will still charge for that day. My viewpoint is we are all struggling with the new normal and businesses need to the money, but should be flexible and not greedy about it. You should have let her reschedule to another date without charging for the missed date. This shows me your company will nickel and dime anyone and are desperate for money. So desperate you will not cancel a spa treatment if someone if sick/ill. Instead you will charge someone. For me I will never stay at 21C or related facility again, I AVOID places/restaurants/hotels etc... that are desperate for money and don't think ahead as far as treating your guest/customer with respect so that they want to come back in the future and will encourage their friends and family to go there. Thank you for your time

Other than the above noted positive opinion, I was disappointed with the room in general. Very poor lighting, and could not figure out how to turn on tall fluorescent type bulbs on either side of the beds. The view was very disappointing with seeing a roof with what appeared to be large A/C units. Bland looking room with only gray and white, with no actual color anywhere other then 1 African print on the wall. No stirrers for the coffee, and only 3 pods of coffee for 2 people in room. No ice machine or vending machines. Top of toilet seat was dislocated from the seat. Bathtub was too high for me as I am short making it difficult to negotiate getting into the shower. Considering the floors were terrazzo there should have been a non-slip bath mat available. Hallway gave appearance of being in an apartment building being very drab and colorless. Lobby far too small with no seating of any kind while you waited for someone or for transportation. Also, the people in next room were playing music very loudly late at night and could clearly be heard through the walls, especially the bathroom wall. I did, however, enjoy a good night's sleep on the comfortable bed and everyone working in the hotel were very friendly and helpful, and it was convenient to have some affordable eateries in the area, as your cafe was overpriced.

We were unable to sleep due to a party in another room. When I called to notify the front desk that the music was loud I was told hopefully it won’t last all night. It lasted until 1am. I had to be up by 5am for travel. Needless to say we were very tired.

Stayed one night, thank God. Hotel in run down condition-check in staff not very friendly- room was very dated- no amenities. One sink bathroom for a deluxe king? Bed not comfortable. Hallway too noisy to sleep, on the 14th floor. Will not return. We have a 21c in Lexington & Louisville, KY-both in much better condition!

We came for our 10th anniversary, and opted for one of the nicer rooms (pretty pricey) in the hotel to celebrate. The check-in process was chaotic, the room was super basic. (Although I'll note--the bed was super comfortable.) Rooms are really dark--much darker than the pictures online. We included in the reservation it was our anniversary, and I was hoping for at least a "happy anniversary!" comment at checkin--but literally nothing. It felt like I was traveling for work, and super transactional. No one aside from the wonderful valets asked how our day was, what brought us into town, where we were from, etc. This continued with anytime we saw any staff in the hotel or passing by the desk--we would say "how is your day?" and they'd respond "good, thanks"--that's it. Even at checkout, no one asked how our stay was. Basically, the service was like on par with Hampton Inn, and I was super disappointed.

A lot of stuff in the hotel room broken, half of the sockets and lamps didn’t work. Door does not keep any noise out. No housekeeping, even after requesting several times. The front desk guy was really nice about it but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a poor service place.

I had a beautiful experience staying at 21c. The room was beautiful and clean. The proximity to a lot of venues was perfect and the view was gorgeous from the 10th floor. My only issue was that in booking online the reservation asked for my nationality. I thought that was an unnecessary question and opted to call and make my reservation instead. I was still able to get the same member price by providing my number.

Location was convenient. Having a broken toilet lid for the first day wasn't a great experience. The staff had to know as it couldn't have been cleaned without falling apart. It was fixed when I said something, but I shouldn't have to. Bed, furniture was nice and updated. Was some disturbing art on the wall with a poor unhappy tribal girl starring at us the whole trip. It was also weird having reception in the elevator entry, and no hotel parking. Was concerned about leaving my car in a city parking structure. Wouldn't be a first recommendation hotel like some of the awesome properties I've stayed in.

We picked the 21C Museum Durham as the hotel for all of our guests attending my daughter's wedding in Durham. The hotel is fun and unique but the service but it over the top. Everyone from the valet, room service, the restaurant people, the front desk, and the manager Eli were GREAT. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and proactive. It is clear that Eli is doing a great job recruiting, hiring and training his team. I would recommend this hotel for anyone (single night stay or a big group like we had).

The service was impeccable. All treated you like you were part of the family. Always wanting to know if there was anything else they could do. They anticipated everything, and left nothing to chance or to question. Clean as a whistle, you could not ask for a more standup, professional, and welcoming venue. was good, but when I called the front desk and ask if there are slippers, some bed sheets were brought to the room. Also our sink was leaking and the huge spot of water appeared on the floor after washing my hand couple of times

It was closely located, which was helpful and they had room availability on short notice. The water pressure in my shower in the morning was non-existent, so that was a bummer.
