Thanks for the great service from the staff. Excellent front desk folks and room attendants. Disappointed that the televisions have not been updated to allow for casting. Seems like it's time to make that upgrade. Also, the lamp over the couch was not working at all. That was kind of frustrating.

The historical building, the art galleries and art throughout, a comfortable bed in a well-designed room, and professional desk staff all contributed to a wonderful experience. The only issue I had was the clock whose alarm was about as loud as a mosquito which allowed me to oversleep.

Perfect location for seeing a concert at the DPAC! However, our room did not have working hot water and the valet was a little tricky to drop cars off at. Enjoyed the art installations and had good experiences with the staff.

Had a great stay here. The staff was very warm and ready to help. I really appreciate the water filling station and bamboo key cards as ways to help reduce our footprint. The art was great, and provided some inspiration on a needed project. I come to Durham regularly and for these reasons will start staying here.

There was some sort of mud or dirt on the shower floor, the sink looked like someone had just shaved in it. Not sure what happened there but it was definitely a let down.

Food: I loved Chef Melanie’s new summer menu, the “brekky” biscuit, the French toast, the shakshuka, and the yogurt bowl! I was impressed with the local fruit used in the breakfasts. Tassia explained how it really is farm to table in this restaurant and also arranged something special for me. Sarah was extra diligent on my first morning at breakfast. I liked the room with breakfast package very much. Other staff kudos:Tommy was a knowledgable and entertaining server. He explained the art in the restaurant. Guess which one is made out of Lego-you will be surprised! Matthew at the front desk was gracious and welcoming and in my chat with Devon at the front door we discussed the new professional women’s softball game which I attended. Room: My room was spacious, with a 180 degree view of downtown. Especially for the thunderstorm! The art in the museum gallery was stunning, heartbreaking and surprising. New takes on sustainability, labor history, and which artists we choose to elevate over others. My room smelled fresh and the lighting artfully divided the room into zones. Housekeeping was responsive. Great use of a renovated bank building. Having a custom blend coffee is cool, but maybe add a darker roast option for visiting Seattle coffee nerds?

The museum concept was really cool. However the rooms were a little grungy feeling. Art deco like it had never been updated.
