The staff at the Movenpick were exemplary. From the reception to the main restaurant and the beach house, each and everyone were welcoming. Special mention to Sadhat, Cindi, Yam, Suresh and Ali from the main restaurant, all went above and beyond to look after us. Nothing was too much trouble. Good spacious rooms which were cleaned daily, lovely bathroom area, fully stocked with all essentials. We were facing the main road (which had amazing views) could be a bit noisy with heavy traffic but we wasn’t in the room long enough for it to trouble us. The beach was picture perfect, got busy towards the end of the day when the temperature dropped. Plenty of water sports to entertain all. Not much to do around the island yet but that may develop in time. Would definitely recommend.

We regularly stay in this hotel for staycations and have always had good experience as a couple or as a family. The hotel is clean and well maintained throughout, well managed, with an excellent layout, has an adult only pool but most importantly the best and most polite and helpful staff ever. I would like to mention Adil in the Ula Restaurant and Bar and also Nikhil from Housekeeping who stood out in terms of customer service. We will definitely recommend this hotel and will come back.

It was an amazing experience at Nh collection colombo.Food and hospitality of the very nice. We really enjoyed the Indian food thanks to Chef Mangal and the team. Fabulous spread of Indian corner. Thanks to Iroshan from room service. Samadhi from AYU. The best part of the trip. Value for money and extraordinary service.

The hotel was very clean, and the staff were very polite and attentive. Despite being told by a member of staff that all the drinks in the mini-bar are complementary, we were shocked to be presented with a bar bill for 386 dirhams the day before the end of the holiday, plus a further bill for 85 dirhams when we went to check out. We hadn't used ANYTHING from the mini-bar during this time. The hotel is described as having 4 restaurants. The restaurants were very expensive, and we had to pay if we wanted to eat there. The food in the Market Place was very monotonous, the same food every single day. No entertainment in the hotel either! The weather was extremely hot every day (high end of 40°C+) when we were there, (which felt like 50°C ) far too hot to sunbathe or go out. There were no handrails going down to the adult pool. We are elderly guests with mobility problems, so it was totally unsafe to be used by us. Our drinks taken downstairs (apart from in The Marketplace, at mealtimes) were NOT included. We spent the full 10 days of our holiday in our bedroom. There was NO sea view, either from the windows in our room or on the balcony. There was an enormous brown building (possibly something to do with air conditioning?) totally obliterating our sea view, There was NO sea view, either from the windows in our room or on the balcony.
