Mama shelter has been my go-to place to catch up with friends, family and colleagues for quite some time now. Whether it’s a Tuesday night dinner with some clients, or a bustling Friday night at the bar. There’s always a relaxed atmosphere and a great crowd. Paired with super friendly service, lovely food and an urban-chique style, it’s without doubt the place to be most days of the week! PS. Mama Shelter’s door men deserve a special mention, as their respectful, correct manner surely elevates the entire experience. And I am not just saying this because even my 70-year old parents complimented their gallantry after they stayed at the hotel recently!

Very good hotel for Lux visit

It’s a fun decor with clean, funky, energetic spaces, comfortable and spacious rooms and a nice bar on the top level complete with a 8 person foosball table. The free and frequent shuttle near the hotel takes you to the city center and key sites in short time. I’d like to mark it a five, but the staff service level and attitude is aiming a little low, making it an uneven experience relative to the intended vibe, taking guests too much for granted. The decor goes so far, and at this hotel rate you also expect a satisfying service experience.

This is really overrated. Ate here several times, but not satisfied. Very plain food and really nothing special at all. Bit of everything, brasserie style, from Italian to French salads. Waiting time is long as well, I was not impressed at all.

Great stay in Luxembourg

We had a wonderful stay here for five nights with friends. Convenient, off-street parking (costs extra) under the hotel; then just followed the pink arrows to the elevators. Check-in went quickly. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. In fact, the young lady who checked us in, remembered my name and room number when I went to ask a question a couple of days later. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had some funky, fun twists. Yes, this hotel is not in the heart of old Luxembourg, but, with free public tram service running every 5 minutes, it was a breeze to get to the heart of town, or to the train station. Althought there is a breakfast buffet (not included), we opted to eat at the Boulangerie downstairs for less money. Nearby, is a mall with restaurant choices, and a grocery store. Note- it is hard to find the hotel. When our GPS said we had "arrived" no sign was in sight. We had to continue down, around the corner to find the parking garage entrance next to the police station. We did eat at the hotel's restaurant one evening, and it was OK. We preferred to take the tram in the old city to eat there.

Very poor customer service

I dined here with 9 other business colleagues on April 25th 2024. The table was pre booked but there was no meet and greet service on arrival and one of the waitresses indicated we should find our own table. She said this with her back to us as she walked past us. Most of the seats were attached to the floor so we had difficulty finding a suitable table and ended up huddled and crowded for our meal. We waited to be served until a passing waiter said over his shoulder to look at the QR code. There was no courtesy when we were served - staff were officious and in some instances quite hostile. My starter and mains were served together and the table was not promptly cleared of plates/glasses making it even more cramped. It was a struggle to get table service for anything ie drinks, more napkins. A part of our order was not served yet added to the bill. It was worth 14 Euros on a 464 Euro bill. The staff and manager, flanked by imposing security, were highly argumentative before eventually amending the bill. We we not asked about our experience, wished a pleasant evening- they even declined our request for them to take a group photo of us (the meal was uniting colleagues from all over the world). Whilst the food was adequate, the dining experience was not as there was a complete absence of customer care. I will not dine here again
