CHECK IN PRETENTIOUS: Felt slightly accosted when arriving at the hotel. Someone grabbed our luggage while we were whisked into an elevator to the 17th floor. Waiting around at check in for someone to be available was not the relaxed experience advertised causing a less than favorable first impression. We requested an early check when making the reservation that was honored but only after some prodding on our part to an uninformed arrival employee. She explained the room inspection protocol would not allow for our early check in even though we were assured through prior emails that Raffles would do their due diligence to honor the request. This frustration could have been avoided if Raffles employees were actually paying attention to guests wishes. It turns out our room was actually ready. The only delay was due to “amenities” not having been delivered yet. While the greeting card was a nice touch the “uncovered" fruit and cookies were unacceptable given our previous requests. Luggage was delivered promptly by a very attentive person. We were given a room with a view of the parking structure despite specifically asking for one that did NOT view parking. We checked availability the evening before to find all categories of room available online. If the parking lot was the only view available for our selected room, we should have been informed so we could have chosen a category. The room was very clean. ATTENTION TO DETAIL WAS FAIR TO POOR: Informed butlers of our Germ Aware status: -Uncovered fruit and cookies sitting on the table despite informing the butler staff of our concerns for food borne illness, etc. -Delivered breakfast to the room with no cover on the scones/croissant. -The person delivering the food had no idea I made a request to drop off the cart at our door and leave. I'd set up the food. Only able to follow these directions on 1 of 3 room deliveries -Fruit and cookies uncovered on check in -Breakfast pastries not covered nor was staff aware of delivery request -Evening snack on 2nd night was the only food delivery done properly IN ROOM DINING: Breakfast: No complaints. Food Quality: -Average = coffee, bacon, english muffin, croissant -Above average = chocolate chip cookies (no nuts) -Below average = French fries SWIMMING POOL: Outstanding atmosphere Comfortable poolside seating, etc. Very clean pool and hot tub with acceptable chlorine content. GRAND KING: Excellent automation. Terrible view: Top floor of a parking facility. HVAC (loud) STAIRS: We're on the 8th floor and prefer stairs to elevators. When we walked from the 8th to the 4th floor we couldn't access the 4th floor with our key card. Repeated red light. Hotel employee responded to gentle knocking but told us we "had" to use the elevators. I've never heard anything so ridiculous. Why? The stair wells are wide and well lighted. Lots of people prefer stairs to elevators. CHECK OUT: Easy Ordered car in the lobby. Arrived in 1-2 minutes. IN CONCLUSION: The most basic of requests should certainly not be a problem for a Raffles hotel to provide. These oversights have us wondering whether we are not "VIP" enough for Raffles with their exclusive butler service or is there more work to be done to live up to the Raffles reputation in their Boston location.

We had come from spending a week in NYC. Lots of clothes. Nowhere to put them. No dresser space and very little closet space. We lived out of our suitcases for three days. Person who showed us around said drawers under tv in bedroom. Could never open. Check out room 1219. Lighting system was a real challenge. Did not work well. Heating system never warmed bathroom or hallway.

The staff at the hotel in all areas from valet parking, front desk, housekeeping and restaurants were all excellent.

A wonderful Thanksgiving stay

Spent a short, but wonderful Thanksgiving trip at the Raffles Boston. The butler staff is wonderful, from the pre-arrival contact, escorting us to our room, responding to a last-minute request for a quiet zoom call location, to the daily checks to see if we needed anything. Meals at the Long Bar and Amar were excellent and we enjoyed the interesting takes on traditional New England dishes. All the staff were helpful and eager to assist us. I look forward to a return visit.
