The resort is lacking in care and maintenance. The place does not have a cleaning regime which ensures all apartments are cleaned before guests arrive. I would always ask for a renovated apartment and check for cleanliness when you arrive.

Outdated and poorly maintained apartment in an otherwise very nice apartment complex

We were given apartment 421 in the Kirra section of the Breakfree property which is totally outdated and poorly maintained with a stale cigarette smoke on the balcony and an elevator out of operation during our entire stay. This was very unpleasant and I feel we have been downgraded significantly for the price we’ve paid. Reception said that we’ve just been very unlucky and that only 50% of the apartments are renovated. We felt really deceived and let down.

Staff, location and lagoon/pools are incredible, sadly our room was outdated and in desperate need of not only renovating but deep cleaning. I stayed in a 1 bedroom swim out apartment with my 2 sons. Checkin was super easy, all staff I encountered were very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful! Unfortunately entering the room I was sadly disappointed in how small it was, how outdated it was and how in desperate need of a deep clean it was. The air conditioner was severely mouldy (which I reported to reception and they immediately had someone booked for the next day to clean the head unit) but I question how long it had been like that and why it wasn’t noticed by cleaners sooner. The floors have clearly been courtesy mopped only, there is a ring of embedded dirt around the edge of the whole apartment as per photos. Shower was nice and big but again shows signs of age in the built up bold and calcium. As others gave reviewed we also encountered cockroaches and on our departure morning I woke up to the pastries I purchased for breakfast having already been sampled by mice. As we were already leaving I cut my losses and headed to maccas for breakfast instead. If you’re in a swim out room please be extremely careful on the patio, when wet the tiles are like ice and are beyond slippery. My one year old had multiple falls which then meant having to keep him inside as it was raining almost the whole time we were there. Overall I would stay there again but upon booking I’d be requesting a different room and ensuring I wasn’t in the same room again.

Good for families - not empathy in a red alert emergency situation!

The swimming facilities were great - in particular the lagoon style pool and heated pool and our children loved the waterslides and waterfall. Majority of our time was spent in the water! The games room was average - lasted all of 15mins in there but that was ok for a rainy day. Due to cyclone Alfred approaching we were lucky enough to bring our flight forward by 2 days (luckily, as our original flight was then cancelled!) I asked 5 days before we were due to check out if there would be any refund/credit/compensation and was told “no sorry, it’s all locked and loaded” So we checked out 2 nights earlier and they kept our money. One of our girls had an accident and they called to tell us we would be charged $100. I thought when they called it would be to see that we landed safely in Melbourne & ensure we didn’t need the room anymore, so to be charged an additional $100 on top of losing two nights - when huge organisations such as Qantas, Virgin and Jetstar were allowing credits/refunds/change of dates was just an extra slap in the face of a poor customer experience. (I also used disposable mattress protectors and did not see any damage to the mattress!) I am grateful for our holiday and to be home safely - however we will not be returning to Breakfree due to the lack of empathy and understanding that was shown.

Séjour de 3 nuits dans l'appartement 236, en rez de chaussé côté piscine avec deux chambres, en famille, membre silver chez All Accor. Le personnel a fourni avec professionnalisme et attention toutes les informations nécessaires à la résidence. Sur le descriptif All Accor de l'appartement il est indiqué qu'il mesurait 80m2. En fait il doit faire 55 m2 (sans la terrasse), ce qui est un peu juste. L'appartement 236 était impeccable niveau propreté, cela sentait même la javel à l'arrivée. Il bénéficie d'une plus grande terrasse que les appartements situés au-dessus. La cuisine est petite mais tout y est, et elle est bien équipée. Les 2 boissons d'accueil All Accor se trouvaient au frais dans le réfrigérateur, merci de cette attention. Un petit coin repas suivi d'un salon donnant sur la terrasse. Les chambres sont de tailles correctes mais souffrent d'un manque de rangements suffisants pour les vêtements. Le placard est petit et il y a peu de place pour les valises. Cela doit être compliqué pour les longs séjours. Il faudrait aménager des rangements dans le placard qui accueille le ballon d'eau chaude. L'appartement est équipé avec lave-linge et sèche linge. Une place de parking gratuite est fourni avec l'appartement. La résidence comprend une grande piscine lagon avec deux toboggans. L'ambiance est très familiale. On y trouve une salle de jeux, des jeux extérieurs pour enfants. La résidence est située juste en face de la plage surveillée, et des commerces sont situés à proximité (pizzéria, burger, fish and chips, restaurant, épicerie, ...). Une belle destination pour une famille.
