Great hotel, horrendous parking issues

My Husband and I were visiting the Brisbane Home Show so decided to stay the night before at the Mantra South Bank as it is so close to the convention centre. We booked the valet parking and just trying to get into the hotel to check in was an absolute NIGHTMARE as there is no designated driveway, just street parking. We drove around the block 4 times and ended up calling and they told us to park in the taxi rank and if we got a fine, they would pay for it, though, we weren't too happy about that option either. The taxi rank was full, another loop around. We finally got a spot, only to be abused by the taxi drivers. So I got out to check in while husband drove around again. The valet said she was just about to move a car so husband could park in that spot. At this stage were feeling pretty stressed and frustrated. Luckily that got better with exceptional service from Ngon. He was a delight to deal with, very friendly, easy to have a joke around with while staying professional the whole time. The room was good, clean and welcoming and the bed was satisfactory. We had views over the river which looked great at night. Breakfast in the restaurant the next morning was delicious and good value and the hotel is in such a fantastic location. Though, the whole parking fiasco is enough to make me doubt whether to stay here again.

On the back of a flight epitomised by Qantas's current level of poor service, it was about the last straw to get to a Mantra hotel, drop into bed, to get rooms without working TVs and general ambivalence from staff to resolve issues, other than an offer of a complementary beer....

General manager lacks customer service

Disgraceful customer service from general manager. Zero flexibility when trying to make a change to booking. Will never book with mantra again. Find yourself a hotel that cares about their guests not just takes your money and runs.

I had the unfortunate experience today of recieving the most inconsiderate and frankly insensitive customer service from Mantra Southbank. Upon speaking to the hotel about the need to either cancel or at the least transfer my booking date for my stay due to the fact an immediate family member is actively dieing, i was advised that the full rate would apply and that nothing could be done. All this coordination occuring whilst i need to be with my family during a difficult time. Sarah from the bookings office was fantastic and she herself advised that this response wasnt good enough. I now stand to loose my money with not a hoot given. I will never be using any hotel from the accor group in future and will be cancelling my accor group membership.
