Room was small. Couldn’t walk between bed and wall without shuffling sideways. Booked a queen room for two people. Only one chair available in room. Not much storage room. Only one bedside table pushed hard against the bed with sharp corners. Cut my elbow twice during the nights. Once each night. Air con very slow to respond and room felt claustrophobic and stuffy.

We stayed over for one night. The beds were wonderful and the room fitouts very tasteful. There were a few details missing like a mini bar, note pad, pen etc which you usually find in this level of hotel. Also, parking costs extra, which in an area like Doncaster is quite strange. I guess it’s assumed most guests don’t drive there? All in all, a very nice experience

Room service in room dining experience was unacceptable. When checking in around 9.15pm, I asked whether the restaurant or bar were still open and informed that the restaurant was closing for dining room service and that the in room service would be available. When getting to the room, I checked the menu and identified that the main meal service was available until 11pm. I selected a meal and beverage and proceeded to call and place an order. The Receptionist informed me that the main menu was not available after 9.30pm and that only the overnight menu was available. I highlighted to the Receptionist that the in room menu stated that the main meals were available until 11pm, the time of my order placement was 9.35pm. I was informed that the menu timing had been adjusted and the Receptionist apologized that the menu in the room did not reflect this change. I requested to speak to the Manager as I found this unacceptable and I needed to have a meal. After a lengthy wait the Manager got in the phone and confirmed that the Kitchen was unfortunately unable to make main meals after 9.30pm and only the overnight meals were available. Stating my dissatisfaction, I chose a meal from the overnight menu along with beverages and was informed that the service would come to my room straight away. After a 20 minute wait, I contacted Reception to inform that the meal and beverage order had not arrived, the informed that they will check and ensure that it is on the way. After a further 10minute wait I contacted Reception again and was told that the Manager is taking action in the order and will contact me. After a further 5 minute wait, I called Reception again and the Manager informed me that the meal is 1minute away and apologized for the delay. The order arrived after a further 5 minute wait. I find this process and experience unacceptable. Further to this, after the lengthy wait and long day I finally got to sleep and was abruptly woken up by the alarm clock in the room. The alarm may have been set by a prior Guest, I would expect that Housekeeping when cleaning and setting up the room for a future Guest would check all aspects of the room and ensure that it is ready and set for new occupants.

Not only did I receive the impeccable service and cleanliness, but I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy during my stay. Several reasons for the eating average. Room incredibly small, you couldn’t walk down the sides of the bed, had to shuffle sideways. Cut my elbow twice on the sharp corner of the bedside table during the night as it was pushed up against the bed and no option to move it. Only one bedside table. Only one chair although supposed to be a queen room. Air con was very slow to respond to changes in temperature. Like hours to cool the room. Overall the room felt very claustrophobic. Meals in restaurant very expensive although breakfast was great and a great price. Charged a $7 surcharge on credit card but had to give a credit card for room bond even though everything was paid up front. Room parking and breakfast. The hotel is newish and was lovely and clean and tidy.
