Great location, staff, rooftop breakfast!

We stayed at the Rixos Pera as part of the Turkish Airlines stopover program. The hotel is perfect for this. The location is very convenient for sightseeing, easy to walk around optimal with access to bars and restaurants. This is my 8th or 9th visit to Istanbul and one of the main areas I recommend tourists to stay. A easy walk down the hill to Galata or Karaköy and very easy to catch a high variety of buses (which are very good in Istanbul). The staff is very friendly and helpful. In particular the guest relations manager, Lale, is excellent at her job, fixed a small issue we had, sent me a lovely note and cake for my birthday and invited us to a Friday night reception in their charming courtyard, decorated for the holidays. She is an asset to the hotel, remembered us and greeted us with a smile each time we saw her. Everyone else was eager to please as well, especially the staff at the rooftop breakfast which, lives up to the Turkish breakfast reputation, and has an excellent view of the city. The hotel itself is showing a bit of wear but still very comfortable, with six giant fluffy pillows on the bed which I love. Would recommend.
