We chose it for Ramadan holiday. We had an incredibly enjoyable time. There were wonderful workshops for our children at the Kids Club, we couldn't resist and entered the workshops with them. There were carnivals and shows for children in the evenings, they were great too. The food was above our expectations. We are not used to such tastes in crowded hotels. There were concerts with evening artists. Unfortunately, on the last day, our son fell off the scooter because he was driving too fast and hit his head. The hotel staff and kids club staff were so caring that we cannot thank them all enough. They took care of our oldest son while we were in the emergency room. They constantly supported us in every way. We left one day late because we were under observation. We would especially like to thank Ms. Melike, who works in guest relations. She was always on call and helped us with whatever we asked for. Thank you for caring about it as if it had happened to your own child. Our son is fine now, thank God, we got through this process, we wanted to thank all the hotel staff again 🙏🙏🙏🙏

The hotel room was immaculate with staff on hand to help and assist you. The beds were made and everything was perfect. There were several pools which were in walking distance so the whole family could enjoy, with sun beds to relax on while my children swam. The bar was close and waiters with roller skates weaved in and out taking our orders and delivering our cocktails with always a smile! The warm indoor pool was always there for a evening dip as well as the vitamin bar all day with amazing, delicious fresh juices such as carrot juice and apple juice. The Rixy Club (kids club) was amazing where we could make reservations to do the subjects we enjoy like painting, ceramics/pottery, wood working and science workshops. It was wonderful seeing my kids flourish in new subjects they have never tried before. There were two main restaurants were you have a wide range of foods to chose from as it is a buffet. All the foods are fabulous and you can go there for breakfast , lunch or even dinner. Not only this there was a snack bar on the beach edge were you could also have lunch too. As our family stayed at this Rixos for eleven days, we got to go to an Al A Carte restaurant for one night only. There were four Al A Carte restaurants such as the Bonzi which did Japanese food, the Mandarin which did Chinese food , the Cactus which did Mexican food and the other one. The free access to land of legends was amazing, however with only one time slot to leave from the hotel and come back, it was quite difficult to keep up with the times and there was no option to come back earlier especially in the heat of the day which would have been beneficial. In the land of legends the queues weren't too long however that may have depended on when we went (April) and on the peak times. There was also a relaxing beach (manmade but with sand) and many water rides and well as ordinary ones. There was the option to buy food but this was not included with the all-inclusive at the Rixos. The dolphin show that was on we we were there was absolutely spectacular and the whole family was amazed - it definitely worth it to watch with or without kid, however I'm not sure if this is a recurring thing. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we were overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the resort and how many facilities there were (cafe's, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, football court, indoor swimming pool, many outdoor swimming pools, many eating areas - some were still opening, the rixy club etc.)

Almost perfect but not quite

Fantastic resort with probably the best facilities I've experienced in Turkey but it does have some flaws. We had upgraded to the Marine Jacuzzi room which was superb, the room was spacious for my wife and 11 year old with a balcony that was truly huge. The pool area that served the marine block was a great place to spend the day, the staff were attentive, smiling and very professional and a credit to the resort. I use the gym a lot at home and the gym at Rixos Sungate is absolutely superb, there is a large and comprehensive free weight area. A great range of static machines and a mass of treadmills and bikes etc. Kids club is huge and has a lot more to offer than some of the smaller complexes in the area. My son went in there on a couple of occasions but at 11 he's perhaps getting a little too old for what they had to offer. The resort was constantly being maintained and I genuinely think they were doing a great job of this although there were a very few area that were looking in need of a little TLC. Unfortunately the resort is let down by its inability to cater for people with special dietary needs. My wife is a vegetarian who is gluten and lactose intolerant and despite numerous chats with guest relations she was pretty much scuppered with what was on offer. Fresh juices were not on offer but only ones from concentrate which were terrible. No fruit salad for breakfast only some chopped apple and unpeeled chopped orange. The whole main buffet restaurant experience was not what we usually expect from stays at other hotels but to be honest for a lot of people it may well be fine. We are back at Rixos Sungate in August and I guess that is testament to how much we enjoyed our first stay. This time however we will pop to Megros (supermarket) to pick up some provisions to cater for my wife.

Amazing experience for the second time at Rixos, Sungate exceeded our expectations and we had a lovely week together.

Room - We started out in a family room which was an upgrade as we arrived, the room was spacious, clean and well presented, we had no complaints about the room it was beautiful. The only slight problem we had was that the air conditioning wasn’t working which we later found out that they don’t actually use the air con system until it is much warmer outside. After getting a fan which didn’t help much we were shown and offered another upgrade to a suite in club diamond, I cannot rave about this suite enough, it had 3 bedrooms meaning our daughter got her own spacious room and bathroom, the master suite was amazing with a large comfortable bed, a jacuzzi bed with the most amazing view of the sea. It also came with its own private swim up sun deck which made sunbathing and swimming so much more enjoyable and intimate. Rixy Kids club - our daughter (5yo) had the most amazing time at kids club, every morning we would look at the schedule for the day and she would pick out the activities she wanted to do and we would pop in and out throughout the day with supervision. She was able to made beautiful paintings, a ceramic dish and wood work masterpieces. The facilities just in the kids area were incredible including the soft play, the outdoor play area, the aqua park and slides, the rooms for all the activities, the games centre and the patisserie, were we spent most afternoons getting ice cream together and finding out about what she had been up to and just spending lovely time together. The Rixy Disco was a staple of our evening and made my daughter day everyday. Restaurants - the choices in the restaurants are endless and we had no trouble finding something for us all to eat everyday including our daughter. She was a big fan of the puddings. We also ate at 2 of the other restaurants including mandarin and cactus which were both amazing and we couldn’t fault the food at all, it was very tasty. Cleanliness - A big well done to the housekeeping staff, the level of cleanliness was at such a high standard whether it be within the hotel and facilities or the rooms and decking areas and the pool. It was so clean and tidy and I didn’t find myself thinking ergghhh at all haha. Staff and guest relations - special mention to Melike, she went above and beyond and nothing was ever too much trouble. She was always on hand to answer questions and find solutions to any issues we had. She made such an impact on our holiday and made everything so seemless we can’t thank her enough.
