I have been to alot of 5 star hotels in Turkey and Europe. The transfer time is approx 2 hours. We were the last drop off and first pick up so it does add alot of travel time to the holiday. The A La Carte restaurants were a nightmare to book, all on the app. The booking opens at 9am and by 9.01am they were all fully booked. We did manage to eat at 3 though but only with the help of our assistants. ( I will mention them later) The kids area and the water park were just amazing.... however the pools were extremely cold so you stay in there for long. And came out blue and shivering. Get those pools heated! The daytime entertainment was not what I usually expect, only fitness programmes and darts. My family and I like to get involved in water polo but that wasn't on offer, and pool games but this was not offered either. So unfortunately this let the day time entertainment down. Evening entertainment was outside surrounded by about a foot of water which travelling with a 2 year was quite interesting and we weren't able to just let them be with the fear of them accidentally falling into the water... but the shows were a good mixture and entertaining albeit very very cold in the evenings. Unfortunately my 8 year old son had a wasp sting and a allergic reaction but the lifeguard, doctors and our assistant Merve were all amazing and very very helpful. Which took the stress away completely. The poolbar staff were just incredible, I drink baileys and they always came up with a baileys cocktail for me. And made friends with my 2 year old daughter so she kept wanting to go and say hello. The buffet food, it did have good variety but did get very samey after a couple days and wasnt overally hot. it was a free for all! Hardly ever any seats, people pushing in. And hardly any fresh vegetables!!!! However the service was always good, you did have to ask for a drink but it came quickly and with a smile. I really really would hate to think what's it like in peak summer... my son really wanted a steak and unfortunately to our surprise there never was any! Which was a shame. I think the hotel would really benefit from a pool side restaurant serving basic burgers, pizzas that you can get in your swimwear and eat by the pool. Our assistants were Merve and they sent texts every morning with all the information you needed for the day. They were extremely helpful especially when my son visited the doctor. They definitely made the week easier. They helped us with a la carte bookings as we had two rooms. And we're always very helpful. Big shout out to them! The rooms, albeit small were very comfy. And had a pillow menu. The rooms were very warm and the aircon did not go below 18c ( but ours was broken) we put in a request to move rooms and on our 5th day this was granted. Hotel was huge! Nothing close by, the icecream shop was about 0.5 mile away the kids club again a distance away. Which was a shame as the children couldn't really go off on their own to get these things. I don't think the hotel was overly luxurious. And only 1 heated pool! The others you couldnt get in because the were freezing! If travelling in October wrap up warm for the evening! No trouble getting sunbeds all week, but you do have the Get beds from the cold pools and move them around, again this could be a nightmare in peak summer! The beach was really nice but again didn't have the wow factor I expected from a 5 star hotel, no beach bar serving food. No comfy sunbeds... unless you saved them on the jetty. Overall I don't have any major issues and we all had a lovely time. And noone was poorly from food. Just a few tweaks needed! Get rid of the a la carte booking app, warm up the pools and have a poolbar that serves snacks and quick meals.

So pleased with this hotel!!!

We were moved by TUI at the last minute (5 days before holiday 😮) as Rixos Sungate was not finished and ready to open!!!! Being moved to Rixos Premium Tekirova I was then very sceptical, however, I’m glad that my worries were unfounded. The experience from arriving at the hotel to when we left has been amazing. The Family 2 bedroom suite was perfect for us and my stepson to provide separation but keeping us together at the same time. The all inclusive nature meant everything was catered for and there was an abundance of food and drink everywhere you looked. Our favourite restaurant was the A La Turka, one of a la carte restaurants that you can book withing your stay free of charge (up to 2 visits per week for the a la carte restaurants), but if you want the buffet option it certainly didnt disappoint. Food was excellent. My wife who is very asthmatic wasnt very well on the holiday unfortunately but they have a concierge service that is carried out via a Whatsapp group with your party and they sorted out medicine to be taxied in from a chemists in the nearby town. Nothing was ever a problem for them to arrange, and Yagmur and Merve, our contacts, were absolutely amazing, first class!!! The location is gorgeous with a breathtaking Mediterranean sea to swim in and a couple of pools (although one not heated, beware it was FREEZING!!!! Lol). The hotel staff were excellent and always polite, sure a couple of aesthetics needed fixing or making good (our towel rail in our bathroom fell off twice) but these are so minor, the hotel really is well set out including loads of things for both adults and kids to do, as well as an awesome spa. All in all , an amazing holiday and we thank you Premium Tekirova for making our first trip to Türkiye a brilliant one!!!

FREEZING POOLS!

Whilst we actually had a nice break, we went toward the end of October, and the pools, aqua pool, and pool we had access to from our room was absolutely freezing! We have a 5 year old who was so excited to use the aqua pool and couldn't because it was beyond cold!

All rooms that have direct access to the pool do not have a heating system; technically, this system is not provided. We are just back from a 7 night stay, we stayed in the pool suite which was beautiful but the shower definitely needs some tlc with the grout etc. Housekeeping are excellent, polite and hardworking, as was the gentleman that kept our mini fridge stocked. When we arrived (Scottish October holidays) it was relatively quiet and managed to get a sun lounger everyday, special mention to the waiter on rollerblades who was such a lovely boy and kept us hydrated all day. One thing that takes a star away from the rating would be the turquoise main restaurant ( if you suffer with anxiety don't go here). There is no system, people pushing, children laying on the floor when there's hot plates going round, there should be a queuing system that is encouraged by staff. If you want to get booked into one of the al le carte restaurants it's very difficult but the Italian was lovely and we had an evening meal at the people's restaurant who were nothing but stand off with us for only wanting a main course.The food in general was good but if you have fussy children there isn't much of a British choice which leads me to my next point. I found this hotel definitely caters more for it's Russian guests, on several occasions we were ignored in the lobby bar and the behaviour of a selection of other hotel guests was that of intimidating when they wanted infront of you in the que. The ice cream parlour was great and evening entertainment was good. All round this is a lovely holiday but maybe we will stick to a smaller hotel in future as the turquoise restaurant and preferential treatment for certain nationalities was terrible

I really don’t take pleasure out of writing bad reviews. Hospitality is such a hard business to be in and I appreciate the hard work that it takes. However I wish I’d had the opportunity to read fuller reviews on this resort so I knew what we would be getting! The hotel is stunning, we arrived at 1:30am and we were offered food. One of my children thought they were hungry so we went to the 24 hour restaurant so get something to eat. However when we got there they realised eating a meal at that time of night wasn’t such a great idea, the waiter was so lovely and concerned that we had changed our mind. I asked for just a bag of crisps for her instead and he went away and got her some, no problem at all! When we got to our room, which was a 2 bedroom family room there was only the king bed and 2 singles. We are a family of 5! We realised that the small one seater couch was a sofa bed but had no sheets. So had to call reception for some. It took around 20mins for them to drop them off to us. I didn’t mind making the bed up but I do feel that at a 5 star hotel this should have been done before we arrived. It was the last thing we wanted to do after a very long day travelling with 3 children. Breakfast is served in the turquoise restaurant, it’s a buffet style. You go in find yourself a table and grab your food. There is a lot of choice and it’s ok for the most part. The pancakes were star of the show and the yoghurt station. Lunch & dinner is in here too. The food is pretty average. Some things are tasty but some things inedible. Anything with chicken or turkey I felt was full of gristle so soon avoided that. Here’s the problem with this restaurant, it’s like going to eat at a cattle market. It is absolutely jam packed with people and it feels like it! It’s pretty hard to walk to your table without a kid running into you. When queuing for food other people are extremely rude and barge in with no apologies! I mean little barge, they will shove you! English speaking guests are in the minority here, most of the guests are from a particular country (won’t name any names) that have no manners! It’s pretty tricky to find a clean table. I think the problem is the staff are absolutely run off their feet trying to see everyone that they don’t finish a task. So a lot of times tables are not fully wiped down or re set and you just have to hope for the best or go and find more cutlery, glasses for yourself. I feel like the waiting staff generally over the resort peeper serving those from the other un named country then anyone English speaking. Now I have read this before and I thought it might be because the person writing the review had an attitude problem and maybe staff just didn’t like them! However, I’ve now seen it with my own eyes. We are a polite, very low maintenance family. All we really needed from the staff was clean cutlery and for them to take our drinks order but we ended up having to hunt for someone to take our order a lot of the time or they’re take our order and forget half of it so we’d have to go back. I do feel so bad for the staff? They are running around like headless chickens. I do feel there isn’t a good system in place for them to be able to manage a particular area. Other potential options for lunch is the food court which is an outside area. This was our favourite. They had lovely kebab meat and salads. Did burgers which the kids enjoyed too and staff were more attentive here. Because it’s a such smaller area it didn’t feel like you were in a cattle market! Dinner options would be turquoise or booking into one of the restaurants. They have a couple open each day which are included if you’re all inclusive only problem is that it is very hard to get a place! We couldn’t get in the entire time we visited! So unfortunately had to eat at the cattle market every night. It’s not a pleasant dining experience going there when on holiday, it’s pretty stressful actually. If you like a cocktail, they are pretty hit or miss. We ended up drinking frozen strawberry margaritas the entire time. Some were lovely some were bland and weak. We are normally wine or beer drinkers but I couldn’t drink the wine! The beer was fine though. My favourite drink was the Turkish tea! It’s a just in Turkey! The pool area was fine. I personally couldn’t go in as it was absolutely freezing!!!! Like I mean proper freezing. But the kids managed. There was 1 heated pool, it was just mobbed all the time. My son loved the water slides but just a wee warning to adults, I think you gain more speed and they really throw you! My husband really hurt himself of one of them. A wee issue with the water slide area is if you as a parent or other kids in your party don’t want to go on but just want to hang out there, there are only around 30 loungers so we ended up having to sit on the grass. Which was fine for us but you might not want to do that for long. The evening entertainment was fantastic on the night we went along! I would recommend going along to this. One of the evenings we were in our beds a little earlier as the kids were tired and the music was pretty loud from the entertainment. I assumed it was stop at 10pm but when it didn’t and I had very upset kids I messaged the WhatsApp group you get added to on arrival to the resort. I just asked what time the music was due to finish. She said 12am!!!! I couldn’t believe it would be so loud so late. The lovely member of staff I spoke to got in touch with the entertainment team and asked them to turn it down and they did! I was so impressed by this. And so thankful! It really did help and the kids managed to get to sleep! We did manage to enjoy our holiday here but it’s definitely not worth the money for us. I have been in 4 stars with much better food and service.
