Convenient hotel, but ground floor room bathroom stunk of drains

The hotel is very conveniently located with pleasant staff. I arrived late in the evening and was given a ground floor, tiny room, which wasn't an issue as I was leaving first thing and on my own - but the separate bathroom had a terrible smell of drains / damp/. The room itself was clean, quite smart with a super comfy bed. But the bathroom almost so bad it turned your stomach - had i been earlier checking in I would never have stayed, but I had no other choice. I don't think the hotel should be allowing anyone to stay in the room (655) and given I had a booking, should have provided an alternative.

A fairly typical Ibis. Although we were upgraded the room was tiny, beyond normal London size, with barely room to move around the bed, it was equipped for a single not a double with limited tea bags, coffee etc. What we did have was a balcony area that was bigger than the room itself - didn't get used much due to rain. All that said, it was clean and in good order but for the price I didn't think it great value.

Super location, friendly helpful staff. We have stayed here a number of times now. The location is 2 mins walk from tube. Hotel is clean. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is just what we want, healthy and light and a special shout out to Asment who is there in the morning ensuring everything is perfect and refilled. I would not hesitate recommending!

Just got back from London and celebrating a family birthday. We stayed for only one night but from check in to checking out our experience was excellent. We arrived early and left our luggage whilst we explored South Kensington. Staff at reception were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotlessly clean and when it had stopped raining we were able to enjoy our large balcony area which we accessed through our patio window. Breakfast had lots of choice. The bed was incredibly comfortable The hotel is ideally located for accessing the Albert Hall and Natural History, Science and V and A museums and also the Underground, as Gloucester Road tube station is opposite the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Disabled people, avoid this hotel at all costs!

I'm a disabled traveller and always check where I'm going to stay before I book. When I called the hotel, I was told that it was accessible for disabled people. So, you can imagine my horror to find three very steep, deep steps at the entrance to the hotel! They completely mislead me to believe that the entrance to the hotel was accessible for disabled people. I use crutches to mobilise and cannot use steps, but I had no choice but to try to climb the steps, which left me in extreme and unbearable pain. It totally ruined my holiday because I couldn't manage to do what I wanted because of the pain and discomfort caused by having to climb the steps every time I left. The thought of returning to the hotel and climbing those steps, filled me with anxiety and dread. There is no other entrance. If you're a disabled traveller DO NOT use this place! I was totally mislead and the staff really couldn't care less! I just got a shrug of a shoulder from the staff. I will never use Ibis again. I have made a formal complaint to them and they haven't had the decency to respond. Obvious that they do not care about disabled people, they just want your cash!
