The hotel is very well located, beautifully decorated, the breakfast is excellent value for money (children under 12 don’t pay) and the staff extremely kind and attentive. Our bed was really comfortable and we had a lovely window overlooking a nice street in Nantes. We’ll definitely come back.

A poor choice

If you are going there by car, you are in for a challenge as of May 2022: the hotel is in a pedestrianised area so Google tells you that you can’t reach it by car, and the hotel website tells you to park in ‘Parking Graslin’ which is less than 5 minutes’ walk away. I say pedestrianised, but with large numbers of bikes, electric scooters, kids on skate boards, etc… you had better keep your wits about you. Parking Graslin: the catch is getting there in the car: a labyrinth of one-way streets and road closures for construction make it frustratingly difficult to reach. We finally managed with some directions from the hotel receptionist. The overnight parking cost €10.50 from about 3pm to 9am. The local authorities are clearly keen to dissuade people from driving in town, but at least they have a seemingly good tram and bus service. The hotel is very centrally located and beside the Passage Pomeray, an up-market shopping arcade which warrants a brief exploration. The interior decorator must have been fixated on black: most of the walls are black (photos attached) including the bathrooms (save for white tiles). Maybe they think it vaguely chic, but in my humble opinion it is oppressive and makes for ineffective lighting. There was no complimentary water in the fridge. The room controls indicated it was not possible to turn down the temperature below 20 Centigrade. The air-con fan was set on maximum but we could not feel any air movement in the room. The alternative of course is to open the doors onto the Juliet balcony, but our room was over a narrow side street and you inevitably get the noise of revellers, drunks, street cleaning machines, dustmen and delivery lorries. Earplugs are recommended. The bathroom had a large mirror, but you could not get within about 70 cms of it and there was no make-up/shaving mirror. The bed was a standard double. Breakfast was overpriced at €17 each – we have known much better breakfasts for less. The Taverne Royale in nearby Place Royale does a simple breakfast for €7.50, which would suit us better.

I stayed at this hotel and my experience was very poor. Initially when i arrived for breakfast the staff did not greet me or explained to me the breakfast policy. Matters got worse on check out. I booked the room s for my initial 3 nights through Accor app and paid for it. However due to personal reasons I extended my stay for 2 extra nights. Upon checkout I was presented with a bill for 5 nights stay and some bar bill which I never used. I tried to explain that I paid for 3 nights and never used the bar. I even presented my booking details showing that I have paid for 3 nights. The staff was adamant that I have to pay for 5 nights the system shows that I have not paid. I showed him the email confirmation of payment but he stated that the system is showing non payment. After 45 mins and several conversations I managed to convince the staff and paid for 2 night stay. I nearly missed my flight. I had plans to meet my family but had to cancel. I never been so embarrassed in my life. It was so unprofessional. It really spoiled my day and plans. I lost 45 mins and was rushing around. Totally poor customer service.

Let me tell you that we are all very surprised to read your complaint and we do not understand your unsatisfaction. My team tells me that they spoke with you several times and that everything was going well. You’ve booked a Junior Suite for 3 nights and you’ve been given the room 401 that you found to small so our receptionnist upgraded you to our biggest room, number 112. You spent 3 nights in this room. The total amount for this stay is 460,95€ (bill n°1). It was prepaid. For information, your breakfasts for the first three days have not been invoiced for 96€. Then you asked to extend your stay with us for 2 more nights (bill n°2). Regarding your departure : our receptionist had noted that you had paid for the first three nights. You two must have misunderstood each other. Your entire stay (5 nights) was on the same bill. To make it clearer, he organized the bill into two parts: the first with the three prepaid nights and the second with the two extra nights. According to the information in our software, the formalities began at 11:20 a.m. and ended at 11:35 a.m. During this time, you asked him to call you a taxi which you finally wanted to cancel then to take an Uber. The hotel is in the centre and very convenient. I think the staff available were interns they were nice but not as professional as would be expected... mostly chatting in back office On the side table on the landing of our floor were the left overs of a room service from the previous night (there when we left in the morning and still there when we returned in the evening) Our room was made up but our pyjamas thrown in the middle of the bed and no new bottle of water... Bed and room was very comfortable otherwise

The location is outstanding, in the middle of everything, yet quiet as well. The staff sees to it that the instructions in the context of the covid measures are followed. The room is well organized and very clean and comfortable. Good shower. Basic breafkast, but there was a continious replenishment of all products. No classic reception, more like one room/lounge for check-in/out, bar, breakfast… At the check-in, a large amount as a deposit is charged. Very good value for the money
