Dear Trevor Norman, Thank you for joining our tour, great point of comparison, especially having experienced Raffles in Singapore! It truly highlights one of the unique charms of the Majapahit. You're absolutely right – the fact that the Majapahit has retained so many of its original fittings gives it a palpable sense of history that's quite distinct. While both hotels share the legacy of the same architect and founder, the Majapahit's commitment to preserving its heritage offers a much more direct connection to its past. And yes, the hotel's pride in its role in the Indonesian independence movement is very evident and a significant part of its story.
