My experience at the Majapahit Hotel Surabaya was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a five-star experience in Surabaya, this hotel is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it! The architecture is breathtaking, with its iconic colonial-style façade and lush gardens creating an atmosphere of serenity. The attention to detail in both the public spaces and rooms is impeccable. My room was spacious, beautifully furnished, and equipped with every amenity you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The blend of traditional Indonesian elements with contemporary luxury made it an absolute haven. The service is truly exceptional. Every staff member I encountered was attentive, professional, and eager to ensure that my stay was flawless.

Transportation Booking Issue Detracts from Otherwise Pleasant Stay

While our group of 22 friends and family members from Europe and Indonesia enjoyed the services of the housekeeping and front office staff, a significant issue with pre-arranged transportation marred our overall experience and necessitates this negative review. The incident, involving a car booking through the Majapahit Hotel with Golden Bird service, was poorly handled by hotel staff member Ibrahim. The issue stemmed from misinformation regarding vehicle capacity. Golden Bird staff member Nico had confirmed the day prior that an Innova would adequately accommodate six passengers (all approximately 6 feet tall) and their luggage for a transfer from the Majapahit Hotel to Ibis Malang. Given the group's intercontinental travel, they had large suitcases. It should have been immediately apparent that an Innova would be insufficient for this purpose. This miscommunication created a significant logistical problem. Upon raising the issue, Ibrahim’s response was unsatisfactory. He cited company policy regarding a 50% refund for booking cancellations. Given that the error originated with the hotel’s transportation partner, this was unacceptable. I insisted on a full refund, which was initially refused. Ibrahim then proposed a solution of booking a second vehicle for the luggage at our expense, a proposition that compounded the initial error and was entirely unacceptable. Fortunately, Risa from Golden Bird intervened and resolved the situation professionally and efficiently. She provided courteous service, remained calm under pressure, and, most importantly, offered a solution-oriented approach. Thanks to Risa’s intervention, we received a full refund and an apology from Golden Bird. However, Ibrahim did not offer any apology for his handling of the situation. This incident reflects poorly on the Majapahit Hotel’s management of its transportation services and its staff training. The lack of communication, the inadequate proposed solutions, and the unprofessional handling of the situation by Ibrahim were deeply disappointing. While we commend Risa from Golden Bird for her excellent service, the overall experience has significantly impacted our perception of the Majapahit Hotel. As a result, we will not be returning.

The Hotel is beautiful inside with a nice garden and pool area inside. Very comfortable bed and big and clean rooms. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is very rich and has a lots of variety. Would definitely stay here again.

We had lunch in this beautiful hotel, we had a five course lovely meal then had a treat and were taken on a tour of the hotel Dani was our tour guide he was knowledgeable and proud he could take us around and tell us all about the hotel. Definitely worth visiting thank you Dani

Hotel Majapahit located in one of the prime location of Surabaya and which is more a tourist spot . The Tunjagan street we will get a great experience of street foods and more culturally rich location . The hotel provides a very good experience with us ,interms of their hospitality, service and staffs are more friendly in nature . I have experienced their laundry is one of the world class service with affordable price . The restaurant is filled with Traditional foods instead of continental variety. I chose the standard Deluxe room for my stays , rooms are really specious with old furniture , Lamps , decoration gives a royal touch . The historical proprietary is well maintained by the management and which is appreciated.
