Ich habe ein Hotel gesucht für meine Seele und mein Herz – einen Ort, der klein, gemütlich und überschaubar ist und mir hilft, wieder in mein inneres Gleichgewicht zu finden. Und das in der Wärme, passend zu dieser Jahreszeit in Dubai. The Retreat hat all das vollkommen erfüllt. Das Hotel ist gemütlich, überschaubar und fühlt sich fast wie ein liebevoll familiengeführtes Haus an. Jeder sieht und begrüßt jeden, und man hat das Gefühl, dass das Personal jeden Gast wirklich kennt. Die Mitarbeiter sind außergewöhnlich zuvorkommend – sie lesen einem jeden Wunsch von den Lippen ab und machen scheinbar alles möglich. Ob Yoga, Wellness, Essen oder Trinken: Alles ist stimmig, achtsam und mit Herz gestaltet. Für mich war dieser Aufenthalt einfach perfekt – ein Ort zum Ankommen, Durchatmen und Heilen. 💛

Bereits bei der Ankunft wurden wir von massivem Baustellenlärm gestört. Es gibt weder bei der Buchung noch vor Ort einen Hinweis darauf. Für ein angebliches Wellness- bzw. Retreat-Hotel ist das absolut inakzeptabel – gerade hier erwartet man Ruhe. Ein weiterer großer Minuspunkt: Im gesamten Hotel wird kein Alkohol ausgeschenkt. Auch hierfür gibt es nirgends einen klaren Hinweis vor der Buchung. Wir hatten sogar Club-Lounge-Zugang gebucht, was sich im Nachhinein als komplett sinnlos herausgestellt hat. Das Essen war sehr schlecht, wenig Auswahl, nicht frisch und qualitativ weit unter dem, was man von einem Hotel dieser Kategorie erwartet. Das Personal war teilweise sehr unfreundlich und unprofessionell. Ein Beispiel: Man wird am Strand geweckt, nur um gefragt zu werden, ob ein leeres Glas abgeräumt werden darf, das dort ohnehin schon seit Stunden steht. Auf die Nachfrage, warum es keinen Alkohol gibt, hört man immer wieder die gleiche Antwort: „It is a wellness/retreat hotel.“ Den Zusammenhang können wir ehrlich gesagt nicht nachvollziehen – und ein Wellnesshotel sollte vor allem ruhig sein, was hier aufgrund der Baustellen definitiv nicht der Fall ist.
