We're long-term guests in the Krone Hotel (since 1999) and for personal reasons were not able to visit anymore after 2016. Now, in Oct and Nov 2025, I was able to refresh the good memories my late husband and I had made over almost 2 decades. Sadly, the Family Gerber sold the Hotel but the new owner made the right decision to retain Mme Alexandra Wohlfahrt as the new Manager. She upholds the tradition of a unique and personalized atmosphere and customer service to make the stay again memorable. Be it the service at the reception, any special request or the excellently prepared dishes in the restaurant ... everything is very professional and makes one feel very welcomed and at home. I'm thankful that I could refresh great memories and I look forward to my next stay in the Hotel. Small hotel, close to old town and plenty of restaurants around. Room is ok, comfy bed, but no AC, so in summer is really hot inside. Staff is nice, nothing to complain about the cleaning, breakfast is limited. The worst is the noise, you have two busy roads on both sides of the hotel, and is difficult to rest properly.

A strange experience. Main issue was the lack of air conditioning - it was 31 degrees outside and around double that in the hotel. I find it astonishing that a/c is absent in a country that has hot weather for at least 4 months a year. Another problem was arriving at 2pm and having to wait an hour to check in (with a tired baby). In fairness we discovered that the official check-in time is 3pm, but we didn’t see more than about 20 other guests, so I have no idea how it could take them so long to clean the rooms. Clearly the hotel does not employ enough cleaners. The staff were generally helpful, especially the manager of the terrace restaurant. However the above issues spoiled the visit.

We had a really enjoyable 3 nights, the two best attributes are the very friendly and helpful staff, and the complimentary bar. The rooms were well fitted out and modern, had a lovely stylish bathroom, very comfortable beds, and crisp linen. The continental breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of regional produce including fresh baked rolls and cheeses. My only surprise was that there was no air con as kr was the height of the heatwave, but the hotel staff gave us an excellent fan which aided sleep. There could be a place to sit inside which is quiet and away on its own. Felt calm, relaxed and taken care of at the end of the stay and would definitely come back or try other Accor hotels.
