bonjour Monsieur Mudry, Mon mari m’a persuadée de séjourner à Raffles Jakarta, grace à la réputation de Raffles Singapore. Pourtant nous étions là bas seulement pour un afternoon tea mais ça nous a donné une très bonne impression que nous avons décidé de tester l’hotel à Jakarta pour notre annuel pulang kampung. Upon our arrival in Raffles Jakarta, there was that WOW effect missing. I guess we were expecting something like in Singapore. The room was as expected, spacious and clean but as I have reported to your staff, unfortunately the room expelled horrible odor from the bathroom which was so bad (smells like the old garbage stuck in the drainage) that it kept us awake that evening, and on top of that, the noise from the street was very prominent that none of us got a good sleep. On the 2nd night, I had to put earplugs on. The saving grace of this review is your staff. Without their great work, this review would have been a completely different note. They are very proactive in everything and trying to provide a solution, eventually gave us a different room with no smell and no noise as it was not facing the street. We had to checked out early due to morning flight and your staff provided take away breakfast on time, which we appreciated. The F&B staff were also friendly and welcoming. Other in house facilities are great. I would suggest some aromatherapy in the room or in the hallway. i was expecting that aromatherapy smell as i was entering the spa but the spa doesnt smell neither nice nor bad, not sure if this is intentional. the towel in the spa shower however smells damped and musky, not a good smell for a spa. We have another booking coming up to spend our last week in Jakarta as from the 15th of April, and we’d be having an extra room for my in laws as well. To be honest, I was ready to cancel this booking after that sewage smell and noise in the room but your FO staff reassured me and my husband that they would check the room to be free of bad odor and noise (although i think this should be the standard for all room). So we keep our booking and let see if this hotel really deserves its 2nd chance or will it be another nightmare for us relived. I am very nervous about coming back there so please dont let us down. thank you!
