I booked a premium king room. its a very strange layout with the bathroom upstairs. its a short stairway, but if stairs are an issue, think about this booking. the shampoo and conditioner was empty the first morning, and the coffee maker stoped working on day two. they charge for water. the location worked for us.

The hotel is in a great location. It’s in the centre of Amsterdam. The staff are AMAZING. Very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good also. I would 100% stay here again. The Dam Square is across the street and there are tons of sights and shopping in this area. 10 minute walk to Amsterdam Central

The reservation process on the Accor website, the location and the desk staff were all excellent, and helpful with directions and an airport taxi reservation. The rate was reasonable. Our 3rd floor room was clean and spacious with multiple lighting, seating and electrical outlet options; lots of pump bottles and packages of toiletries in the bathroom; and a comfortable bed. Our room was pretty quiet-I heard a neighbor in the hallway once, and a man yelling in the street below once, but those noises did not bother me. The air quality was good, and I turned the HVAC blower fan on and off at times to keep the room between 73 and 77°F (I like it warm) and 50% humidity. There was also a portable fan on the desk. I did see a delivery of new chiller units while we were there, so you should call if you are concerned about the temperature. The free Wi-Fi was adequate, and there were four complimentary bottles of water and a bowl of fresh fruit in the room, in addition to the items available for purchase in the mini bar. It would’ve been nice to have another luggage rack and wash cloths in the room on arrival, but I did not bother to request them. I would gladly stay at the Swissotel Amsterdam again, and recommend it to family and friends.

Happy -really central location -received welcome drinks Not so happy - Stayed in room 130. Aircon did not work and the room was always hot and steamy . Raised with front desk and the advise was to leave the window open and they cant do anything about it as building AC is at capacity . Agent also mentioned temperature is at comfortable level and offered a fan or 2 if one is not enough. We were on level 1 and somehow outside air smelled like cigarettes and fries. Spoke to another agent and the response was to leave the window open while the weather will change and will be cooler as that's how it's done in europe . I attached the photo of my window view and a security concern. Hotel offered to refund 15% off for first night(35 euro ? ) which I agreed, which is stupid on my part, then declined almost immediately. While I understood the ac issue is building wide and must be a known issue, they could have mentioned that prior or during check-in. - Restaurant staff during breakfast was not friendly. Took order for poached eggs. He then brought fried eggs and asked "well did you order this?". I asked that we ordered poached, he left the plate on table and walked away with short comment "No poached ". While freid eggs are still good, he could have made it clear while the order was taken and didn't need to be snappy. - The rooms were kinda dusty and not really sound proof. The room that we were supposed to get was not ready at 3.00 pm and we were given a different room. I rarely leave bad reviews but after a couple bad nights of sleep and not so friendly service from staff, I thought I had to.I hope hotel management does not reply this review with " while we strive for more great service..... " :)

We would like to once again apologize for the issue with the air-conditioning and understand that opening the window in a room located on a lower floor was not an optimal solution to the discomfort encountered during your stay. We have since then fixed the issue with our air conditioning system allowing it to function at a much higher capacity. We also regret to hear that the interaction with our staff did not reflect the personalized service we pride ourselves on. Similarly, the miscommunication at breakfast is not indicative of the high service standards we aim to deliver. We are also sorry to read that the cleanliness of the room was not satisfactory. Highly recommend Swiss Hotel Amsterdam for great Staff super efficient cleaning crew and Great Location right in the centre of Amsterdam and within walking distance to all Amsterdam offers tourists great canal journeys and attractions
