Absolutely beautiful Christmas decor. Unfortunately our room seems to have not been vacuumed or dusted in some time. There was splatter on the mirror by the coffee machine, water in the reservoir, missing coffee mug and coffee pods, missing toilet paper. Staff overall were friendly. Bar was closed early Saturday night which was a surprise. Toro for brunch was outstanding.

This is a yearly trip for us. We’ve been coming for the past 10 years. Positives: the staff was friendly. The room was available quickly upon checking in. Location is great. Negatives: We found that since the change in the lobby away from the lodge feel and the switch to Toro from Columbus tap, it has been a much less enjoyable We find it harder to meet up and hang out with friends within the Toro restaurant or the lobby now. There was more mold and mildew in the shower.

Small initial problem with house keeping (our room had articles left over from previous guest) was dealt with promptly. Otherwise, a perfect stay. Will stay again when visiting Chicago..

My fiancé and I stayed for two nights at the Fairmont and had a great experience. We arrived early and left late, bell services so graciously held our bags while we went and explored the city during those times. The front desk attendants were a delight and the servers at Torro were welcoming as well.

Very disappointing given we paid to upgrade to Fairmont Gold. Gold was supposed to have its own private check-in, but it did not. The gold lounge served bottom shelf wine and spirits, and charged extra for them. Breakfast was lower quality than basic Hampton Inns with an especially minimal fresh fruit and baked goods selection. The room appointments were no better than average and the shower water direction handle felt like it was going to come off in my hand. On the positive side, every person we encountered from the front desk, to the valet, to the doormen were all very pleasant, friendly, and helpful.
