Stayed for business. Nicely located hotel with great rooms. Coffee station should stay open longer!

The “urban …” charge is ridiculous. Was there for a wedding wasn’t using spa, restaurants or dry cleaning and if I did the amount given wouldn’t make a dent in the charge. A resort fee at a resort makes sense but this is a money grab for your hotel. First morning there were no coffee cups ( or any cups ) in the room for espresso machine ( which still had water in the reservoir-gross. Obviously had not been cleaned). Called for coffee cups - had to call again after 30 minutes-called again after 1 hour. Finally arrived -waited 1 1/2 hours just to receive coffee cups! Dirty cup with sugar packets that I used were not replaced the next day. When you use nespresso- the residue remains in the cup- again… gross Safe door would not unlock right before we had to go to a wedding! Security did come fix it but it was just another annoyance! Also, the layout of the room was bad which I understand happens with the architectural design but there was no dresser! Just very large drawers at bench at end of bed. I would not have found anything in those drawers as they were just too deep and weird so lived out of suitcase. Finally, had to keep shades closed as we looked out on another building and we could see through every window in that building which means they could see us.

Dear Jeffrey B., Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park. We’re very sorry for the multiple service and housekeeping issues you experienced, including the delay in delivering requested items, the cleanliness concerns in the room, and the inconvenience with the in-room safe. These are not the standards we aim to maintain, and your comments have been escalated to our housekeeping, engineering, and front office teams for immediate review. We also understand your frustration regarding the urban destination fee and the value perception of it, as well as your concerns about room layout and privacy. Feedback like this is important as we continuously evaluate how amenities and charges are communicated and how guest comfort can be improved. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention and regret that your stay did not meet expectations. Kind regards, Tim Muhsen Director of Guest Experience

Positives: - Very comfortable and clean rooms, housekeeping does a good job. - Good location, convenient and walking distance to popular attractions. - We had a great dinner at the Toro restaurant, the food was awesome, the server did a great job. - The concierge Gail W. was great and very helpful. Negatives: - The breakfast buffet was an insult to the Fairmont name. The roadside motels have better breakfast buffet spread than what is offered in the Toro restaurant breakfast buffet. - The breakfast is badly mismanaged. On our second morning the server was overwhelmed and we had a hard time getting any attention. - There is no coffee shop. The bar area serves coffee till about noon. We came in from sightseeing about 3PM and wanted to get coffee but none was to be found. The bar area itself does not appear very welcoming. A good hotel like Fairmont needs to have a good coffee shop and a bar area that is warm and socializable.

Dear Mihir P., Thank you for your detailed feedback about your stay at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park. We’re pleased you enjoyed the clean, comfortable rooms, great location, your dinner at Toro, and the service from our concierge team—especially Gail W., who will be recognized. We also appreciate your comments regarding breakfast and coffee options. We’re sorry the breakfast experience and service did not meet expectations, and your feedback has been shared with our food & beverage leadership for improvement, including staffing, quality, and guest accessibility throughout the day. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a smoother experience. Kind regards, Tim Muhsen Director of Guest Experience.

Dominique B. Friends - Confirmed reviews ALL

I recently stayed at the Fairmont Chicago and left with mixed feelings about the experience. First, the positives: the hotel smells absolutely amazing from the moment you walk in, the location is excellent, and the check-in process was smooth and welcoming. The staff I interacted with during check-in made a great first impression, and the property itself has the feel of a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, the room experience did not live up to the expectations set by the hotel’s website or the price point. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was because the website advertised in-room robes and a Nespresso machine. When I arrived, there were no robes in the room, which was disappointing. Additionally, the Nespresso machine was much smaller than what I’ve experienced at other hotels offering Nespresso as an amenity. While this may seem minor to some travelers, it was genuinely one of the features that influenced my booking decision. Another surprise was the lack of to-go coffee cups in the room. I found myself wondering how guests are expected to take their coffee with them without carrying around a ceramic mug. It felt like a small detail that was overlooked. The room itself could also benefit from some updating. The iron and ironing board appeared quite old and worn. There was also no refrigerator available for guest use. While there was a note explaining that food could be refrigerated by contacting the hotel, the process turned into a frustrating experience. After returning to the hotel with leftovers from Chicago restaurants, I called to ask about refrigeration and whether a microwave was available. The operator seemed unsure, transferred me to a manager, placed me on hold for several minutes, and then I was transferred back to the front desk. Ultimately, I was told there was no microwave available that evening and that there might be one available the next day. The entire interaction felt confusing and disorganized. Additionally, the elevators experienced issues during my stay. On the first day, they repeatedly became stuck on the 29th and 30th floors. While the elevators eventually worked, the delays and uncertainty were inconvenient and added to the overall frustration. For the price paid, I expected a more seamless experience and amenities that matched what was advertised. While the location, atmosphere, and check-in experience were excellent, the room amenities and guest support fell short of what I would expect from a hotel in this category. Unfortunately, because of these issues, I would likely choose another hotel on my next visit to Chicago. I believe I could have had a similar—or possibly better—experience at a more moderately priced property with clearer expectations and more practical in-room amenities.

Dear Dominique, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park. I’m sorry to hear that several aspects of your visit did not meet expectations, particularly regarding in-room amenities, housekeeping details, WiFi performance, and the handling of your requests. This is not the level of consistency or clarity we aim to provide, and your comments have been shared with the appropriate teams for review and improvement. We’re glad you enjoyed the location, atmosphere, and your arrival experience, but we understand that the overall stay fell short for you. If you would consider giving us another opportunity in the future, we would welcome the chance to provide you with a smoother and better experience that reflects the standards you expected from the start. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make it right for you. Kind regards Tim Muhsen Director of Guest Experience

Cindy W. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

Was in Chicago for business at the Aon Center, and loved that the Fairmont is next door. I have stayed at the Fairmont several times before, and the rooms are large and well-appointed. Service is what you expect at a Fairmont property. During this stay, I especially loved the Le Labo toiletries (IYKYK) and the views from my room.

Dear Cindy W., Thank you for your kind feedback regarding your recent stay at Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park. We are delighted to hear that our convenient location and spacious, well-appointed rooms met your expectations. It is also wonderful to know that you enjoyed our Le Labo toiletries and the views from your room. Your continued patronage is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit. Warm regards, Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park
