We stayed at the Millennium Park 2 bedroom Suite at the Fairmont Chicago. For a luxury hotel, we were hoping for a great experience that is why we chose to have our staycation here however when we arrived, the room was not very clean. There were crumbs on the floor and we had to clean the refrigerator and microwave ourselves. The room temperature was hot and we were unable to change it from the room thermostat. The nights got very hot and made it uncomfortable to sleep that we had to resort to opening windows just to get some cool air in. The bathroom fixtures were coming loose, the rain showerhead produced water all over the place and was not even close to a rainfall effect. In addition, the water temperature was inconsistent and would turn really hot and then cold and was hard to control to get the right temperature for a shower. Also one of the bathroom sink did not drain properly as water would rise up when the faucet was on. And on our last night there was banging sound that woke us up in the middle of the night which went on every several minutes from 2am-4am. We did inform the front desk of all our issues with the room and was offered to have maintenance come to take a look at it however due to Covid-19 we did not want anyone coming into the room. Regardless, any of those should not have been an issue at check in especially for a luxury hotel and for the price we paid per night. The employees were very nice but unfortunately the room was a let down. We were looking for this staycation to celebrate my daughter's birthday but was very disappointed.

I had two rooms (adjoining) and the rooms were filthy. Despite checking the website at the time of booking, none of the restaurants at the hotel were open even though the website said that they were . They don’t have any food at the hotel Monday-Wednesday and I was totally unaware. There want even water in the rooms.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was a very pleasant experience. The view of the city of Chicago was outstanding as we were on the 19th floor. Plenty of room in our suite for our family of 5. Staff was very friendly and were very helpful the times we needed help finding things in the city or with things we needed in our room. The only complaint I had was that breakfast was not included nor could we purchase food from the restaurant downstairs due to COVID regulations. We did have a $5 voucher per day to purchase towards coffee or pastries at the bar in the mornings. It was just better for our family to walk a block down to Stan’s Donuts or Starbucks. I would stay here again!

At check in, the lady nicely gave me the key and told me the view was one of the best ones. There was no breakfast and welcome gift as I usually have. The lady told me breakfast was not available for Platinum members on this hotel. I received an SMS if there is anything I need I could ask. I asked for more pillows, there were just two pillows. Cody on the phone told me because of government request. I had to call three times and leave the phone to someone answered for a long time. I send SMS also to see if there they could answer me something and they replied me the next day with no good information. The room was not clean the next day, I asked to clean at 6:30pm which Cody told me Government request there was no cleaning. I asked why they didn't told me at the beginning, he could not answer. Cody was nice talking but he didn't give a sh...t on my issue, he answered like if I was talking to Alexa or Siri, no solution just the same i dont give a sh...t answer. I asked for his supervisor or manager. and he told me he was the manager at the hotel. What a shame of manager. This hotel is the worst service of all Accor hotels I had stayed. From ibis to Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico or Banyan Tree in Thailand. Though I had to say I mostly stay on Asia and Mexico and by far by far better attention from staff. Never ever this Fairmont and maybe never ever Accor in USA.

Bad service, bad rooms, bad name for fairmont

Couldn't make it to the 2nd night. First night was ok. But on the second day the residents in the conjoining room were talking but we could hear everything they were saying. Called front desk asked to move rooms instead they sent security. We asked them not to send security but they did anyway. We packed our bags and left. Spent our 2 night in chicago elsewhere. Your front desk team had a bad attitude about us leaving and never offered accomodations. Instead they charged us for the second night when we didn't even stay there a second night. I'm not impressed. Our experience with fairmount in Austin was spectacular. This hotel and it's level of service desiccates the fairmont brand.

I am far from a picky, ungrateful person. So is my wife and 17 year old daughter. However, we all expected much more from Fairmont. Essentially no food available : could have partnered with a couple of local restaurants and GRUBHUB for custom delivery. No coffee makers in the room, and no coffee service until 7am, 90 minutes after we wake up. Employees, outside of a lovely "Patricia" in the bar area, were distant, and timid, behind desks. ......

1) Parking - as you walk from the ramp below ground to the hotel - some of the signage gets confusing on the direction to the Fairmont -walk it and you'll see from first timer perspective. I paid 51 dollars for less than a 24 stay - come on - that is uncalled for - maybe 20 bucks - especially right now - your uncompetitive 2) no in room coffee - I have not ever experienced not having coffee in the room at a hotel - you not competitive 3) no plastic garmet bag - this is also a first in a hotel I have been at 4) food delivery - should be the guest choice if they get their take out orders delivered or even dropped off in front of their door (contactless) 5) hotel personnel very knowledgeable and polite - bed was very comfortable With the current market - look for ways to value add your stay and make your location stand out and be the go to verses your competition

Difficult to park my car. Valet parking all shut down with directions posted to front door of hotel only to discover further instructions that told us to park in Radisson's parking area (which was difficult to negotiate). Upon entry to lobby, things were pleasant though eerily quiet. Room was pleasant. Our only dinner option was a limited takeout menu from the restaurant in hotel. We ordered "deep dish" Chicago pizza and were disappointed to discover it was really "Detroit-style" thick-crust pizza.

I payed for a room with a view of the lake or millennium park, my view had a tiny sliver of the lake from a far distance but the park in my view was a dog park, not millennium park. The bed was also not comfortable, the pullout couch was more comfortable. Overall the room was clean and the staff was friendly

Cold winter day - i was sent to a room with the window open. Maybe i'm inept but a worker had to come and close. Heat at 75 room still did not feel cozy. TV emote seemed tricky ( that one is probably me) My wife was given a $50 restaurant credit in lieu of booking with a website. Only to find out the second ( last night of my stay) restaurant was closed. I was told there would be an adjustment made by the front desk. I would stay at a different property next time

Understand that Covid-19 has affected all hotels, but no fitness facility, no bar, no restaurant service and no room service. The self-park was closed when I arrived and I had to park at a public parking garage down the street. Then, I receive my bill with a $20 "amenities" charge. Amenities? What amenities? Your booking website should have clearly stated that was and was not open. WIll not be back. Ever

I paid for a signature view room, the room was small , the view was not optimal, no extra pillows, no coffee maker for in the AM, no ice buckets, nothing was opened, even though we moved to a tier with in door dining at limited capacity. the few staff members we did see were friendly and helpful. It had had a cold feeling, for the money spent for one night, I would choose elsewhere

This is our second stay and it was just fine. Covid changes everything, so we mostly ordered Door Dash food and stayed in the room. The staff was helpful. but obviously a very different experience than our pre-Covid stay. The Fairmont is our "go-to" place to stay in Chicago.

We have stayed at the Fairmont Hotel several times in the past. It once had beautiful views of the city but is now surrounded by other buildings. Still it is a nice hotel. Our only negative was that I had purchased a spa treatment for my wife. The treatments were fine but the desk attendant told her how much she was expected to tip because we had gotten such a good price on the package. This was out of order in our opinion.
