Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa bintang 4

Hardly a 4 star hotel and spa. Dirty basic rooms, spa more a leisure centre, kids swimming lessons during kids swim times. Sauna and steam room smelly, no jacuzzi. Mainly used for conferences so busy all day. Manor House not in use, just for wedding and conferences. Some buildings Seem to be used as residential which are kept untidy. Grounds are lovely near Manor House however the rest of the place needs maintaining. Would not return. Avoid. Don’t be mislead like we were. HVe made a complaint and would like my money returned.

Daughters hen weekend. Beautiful grounds and house. Lovely relaxing time. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The set meal we had on the Saturday was exceptional but service quite slow. It was really good food so no need to complain AND THEN SUNDAY HAPPENED. No room in restaurant we had to eat our breakfast on bar stools. No bread, coffee machine and orange juice ran out. No plates or glasses and toaster stopped working. NOWHERE NEAR ENOUGH STAFF. Such a shame as what staff were there worked tirelessly. I didn't want to complain but there is more ..... tables outside weren't cleared from the night before AND BREAKFAST. 2pm and tables still not cleared. No beer at 2pm and lunch took 40 minutes to get to us. When it did it was sent back as cold. 4 of us had chicken burgers, all 4 violently sick Sunday night / Monday morning. If the management had bothered to ring me back I would not of published this review, but I have called reception 3 times this week with a message of I will be receiving a call back. Nobody has phoned me !! Really upset as it was supposed to be a nice weekend but ruined. Oh and one more thing. Fire Alarms went off on Sunday morning. NOT ONE MEMBER OF STAFF GUIDED THE GUESTS OUTSIDE TO SAFETY. IT WAS CHAOS !! If things are as bad as this most weekends unfortunately there won't be a hotel full of guests. I know I,m not the only person who was upset.

Lovely hotel ,freindly ,good welcome,great breakfast ,dinner ,bit unsure on neg reviews ,have traveled a lot ,this hotel better than a year ago ,we had our 2 dogys with us ,Breakfast good choice standard of food ,dinner was good ,very relaxed hotel ,amazing grounds ,nice walks for the dogs ,we stayed in a privilege room . I can recommend this hotel ,all staff were welcoming helpful,made our break enjoyable .

Travelled with my wheelchair bound son booked on online direct and ensured the accessable room was checked. Upon check in (after fighting though non automatic door with a wheelchair and luggage) they had no record of accessable room requirement although they could see that I needed on from previous stays. It took 35 mins for them to find me a suitable room ( 420) This was located in a different building which the entrance was up a ramped access and through two ( non automatic doors) this was virtualy impossible to negotiate. Fortunatlely the 24 hour guards looking after some of the hotels "longer term guests" The room was spacious and had large roll in show and shower seat , but no handrails even for the toilet so not really suitable for disabled use at all. The lighting in the room was very poor not helped by two lights not working, heating in the room was also not working. Was woken up at 630 with foreign voices stood outside our room chatting. My son needs to eat regualary but couldnt get a table at the restaurant til 8 oclock so we went to the bar for at 6 for something to keep him going but was told they didn't serve food at that time, so the best that was offered were some crisps from reception. We asked a waitress Evie if she could get us a bananna from the kitchen but returned with an apple as the kitchen didn't have banannas we were very gratefull for her to do this. The restaurant meal we had was good a quick (on our request ) and thanks again to Evie to the waitress who got the chef to do an off the menu desert for my son who cannot tolerate refines sugar. Sunday morning a nice relaxed leisurely breakfast... if only . The restaurant was packed had to wait for a table it was a bun fight to get breakfast kitchen an waiting on staff could barely cope to keep supplies of food ongoing as I had repeated visits to the serving station having to get my sons food as well as mine There was never a time where there was not something missing and people hanging around waiting for thing to be replenished which added to chaos. Then I just go my food and the fire alarm went of and we were told to leave the restaurant. The hotel its self is in dire need of some investment I observed rotting wood work very dirty old looking carpets . It is such as shame that such a beautiful place is not presented in a way if deserves. No dedicated disable toilets in the old part of the hotel ( where our function was ) there was a disabled toilet in the gents but this was accessed though two close proximity doors which were impossible to get through without additional assistance. Why a large Hotel chain like this cannot or will not give better thought to disabled access requirements is beyond me.

Wonderful setting for a hotel, and the food served in the restaurant, in the evening, was pretty good, although the service was slow. We sat down at 7.30, and finished at 11.30. The mattress was firmer than I was used too, but just an observation rather than a complaint. However, the breakfast was one of the worst I have ever had. Having opted for the full English, at 8.50am it didn’t bode well that there were no plates initially, and when they were produced from the kitchen, they were both cold, and covered in water, as though they had been left in a dishwasher overnight. Sausages and bacon were on the warm side of tepid, and a single fried egg, which had looked very lonely for quite a while was added to the plate, which chilled it down. I added a quantity of baked beans in an effort to raise the temperature of the previous items, mushrooms and tomatoes. Potentially it could have been amazing, but it wasn’t. There seemed to be one elderly lady on the buffet, and this I think was the overall problem, including the evening meal, insufficient staff. Shame, but i think symptomatic of the times.
