A Merry Christmas to all

Over the last 12 months we have used this hotel 2/3 times a week as our “watering hole” having used it for several functions both large and small in the past. We had our Wedding & reception, later a smaller reception for our church blessing, Christmas lunch and several family get together’s over the past few years, often staying overnight. Every member of staff always greets or acknowledges us on every visit, they are great. In saying that there are a few who have stood out and we want to give them a Christmas thank you, starting with Ian Mills, he has arranged most of our functions making all the arrangements with ease. Ian always stops for a chat if, and when, he is passing. Kim Peach is a superstar, IMO, with her attentiveness and nothing ever being too much trouble, TBH we have no idea where her infectious energy comes from, she will also stop for a chat or after coming off duty sit down for one before leaving for home. The bar staff, Kira and Dominica (or should I say newly appointed Team Leaders), are also very attentive and often have our drinks poured and ready before we make it to the bar and on a quiet day, they are ready on our favourite table-such great service. Tamzin, who is now "back room staff," deserves a mention, she always greets us with a smile, infectious positivity and if not busy a quick chat. A final mention has to go to Mr Steven Benson-Flower, General Manager, whose approach to customer service is so obviously infectious it seems to have permeated down to all of his staff. He always acknowledges us with a wave from a distance or a friendly handshake when passing close by. So, thank you and Merry Christmas to everyone we have met at the Mercure Daventry in the past year, we look forward to having Christmas Lunch and are grateful to all those who are giving up their Christmas day to serve us, Peter & Jenny.

Lovely friendly staff, that makes your stay more pleasant. The rooms were clean , with all the amenities I needed. Shout out to the staff on breakfast duty, very welcoming and helpful- Aleksandra & Sonia.

Excellent breakfast. Fresh cooked eggs etc. Room was warm and clean. Staff excellent and helpful. Keri in the restaurant at breakfast was attentive and very helpful. An enjoyable stay once more.

Great customer service and good food

We used this hotel for the Best Businesswomen Awards which is in a good location almost in the middle of the UK. Their conference room is purpose built with a built in stage. The staff and helpful and well trained. The rooms are in need of updating but for the price this was expected but they are fine for a couple of nights. The food was really good and we had 300 people at the event and I had very positive comments. The staff in particular Ian and his team and the manager Steven are very supportive and helpful. We had some lovely thoughtful touches for our guests which was amazing. This is quite a big event with a lot of moving parts and I appreciated their support. Breakfast was lovely and the team again helpful. There is a pool and gym but we didn’t get time to use it. Parking is free and loads of spaces. We had such a good experience we have booked for next year. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a large scale event.
