I had a lovely experience in the spa. Beck was wonderful, calm and informative. The massage was incredible! I was able to take my time and wasn’t rushed at all. The afternoon tea was lovely. I would recommend if you’re a tired mum looking for some R&R.

Came with my daughter for a spa and treatment was great and relaxing!. Also fantastic service from Jacob in the evening at the restaurant and bar, made us feel so welcome. would definitely return and recommend to all those thinking of coming.

Came with my mum for a Christmas get away. The spa treatments were amazing but overall couldn’t give enough credit to Jacob! Greated us with a smile and the friendliest personality. He couldn’t have made our stay better! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Heating broken in dining room on one of the coldest nights this year. Sat in coat and scarves as no effort to bring in heaters. Our drinks took 40 minutes, food 50 minutes, waitress in tears. Sticky tables and floors both mornings, badly stained chairs in reception. Have complained to hotel twice but no explanation. Spa treatments were excellent.

Management compensates customers for the slightest fault with the service.

One thing I can criticize is the luggage trolley and the access pathways when transferring luggage from the car to the hotel room and vice versa. Instead of having those small airport style trolleys for individual use, they have one of those monstrous things normally used by head porters. These are difficult to steer, and when bringing luggage into the hotel you need to use the access pathway, (actually intended for wheelchairs) otherwise you need to negotiate an upward step. I dare say that hotel staff will help with the luggage, but they don't actually have a designated porter. When leaving, the step will not be a problem. The hotel has no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, ask for a ground floor room, as near to the front of the hotel as possible. This hotel appears to have a policy of not charging if anything at all is wrong with the service. I arrived in the early afternoon after driving through the previous night. So I had lunch then crashed out. When I re-surfaced, I was still feeling tired and I asked what time the restaurant closed I didn't want a full meal, but they had a "sports bar" which served food. I had been told by receptiom that this bar closed at 2200h and that it was possible to order food up until 2145h. However when I tried to place an order at 2135h, the girl told me that the bar stopped serving food at 2130h. I protesred; the catering manager was called, and I was told that my meal would be complimentary. I was also hate for breakfast the next morning. I sat down with 7 minutes to spare, but my the time I had eaten my fruit and cold cuts, the girl had cleared the hot stuff away. The staff provided me with sausage and bacon, but the fried eggs were no longer available. I made the comment that it would have made more sense if the staff had started clearing up the cold breakfast items first, so that late customers were still able to finish with the hot items. The result was that I also got my breakfast free. So it appears that the staff here do make mistakes, but the management does its best to put thing right. The rooms are extremely smart, with wide screen TVs and everything you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. I do not hold the absence of designated porters against the hotel. I know that Accor only provide designated porters at their 5* hotels, as they would add considerably to the price.
