Friendly staff, but room condition needs attention

I arrived in early January and the check-in was smooth and friendly, which set a good first impression. Unfortunately, that didn’t quite last. The “warm” welcome turned out to be a room cooled down to about 15 °C. After switching off the otherwise well-working AC, the temperature slowly normalized — but then a strong urine-like odor from the carpet became noticeable, which was hard to ignore. To be fair, the staff was consistently friendly and polite. However, response times were slow: around 20 minutes for requests, despite it not being rush hour and the hotel clearly not fully booked. Small things added up: both TV remote controls barely worked, and the fancy water taps were literally falling apart. Everything still functioned, but it no longer looked or felt well maintained. Overall: good location and nice people, but room condition and maintenance clearly need attention.

It’s clear to see why this particular Novotel has a 4.9/5 rating. Having just completed my 2nd stay at this hotel I cannot praise the team and property enough. FOH F&B & Housekeeping maintain an impeccably high standard from start to . Extremely comfortable beds, spacious room and good amenities. No request was or has ever been too much. I feel like I spend my life in hotels due to my work so I can confidently say this team are trained to a 5* standard reveller only by Raffles and Fairmont within the Accor estate. The property is a high quality 4* and priced appropriately. Highly recommend! My deepest gratitude to the breakfast team in their entirety and outlets manager. With an additional special mention to 5* beautiful souls on reception who make me feel like I’m returning home every day - Sharon, Sumera & Osman. A real credit to not only Accor but to Hospitality as an industry! Thank you! Thomas DW

10/10 "We recently celebrated a baby shower at this hotel, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make it a memorable day! From the moment we arrived, Alex at reception was extremely helpful. Nova and Patrick at the restaurant were also fantastic, and the buffet food selection was amazing. Duty Manager Mr. Sayed checked in to ensure everything was perfect. The rooms were comfortable, and requests were attended to promptly. Huge thanks to the entire team for making our day special. We'll definitely be back!"

This my third time here! what a wonderful hotel I would like to give my best complements to Hotel Attendant Mr. Hassan. He gave us a very warm welcome and supported us with our luggage perfectly and in fact saved us acting as a hotel receptionist. He served us with the best room. I loved the smiling and support from Mr. Osman ( the hotel security staff) He is really kind and he is very good. I cannot forget Br. Salim the receptionist for the care he gave us whenever we called him. We enjoyed the Breakfast Buffet, there was all what one needs. The service from Mary and Maya (Kenyans Sisters), was beyond expectation. Very charming good hearted girls really. Mr. Yousuf (Joseph) Hajj made sure we had all what we needed and in fact he did served us with fresh juices. This Novotel, is at best location easy to reach and connected to other areas very easily. It is very clean and rooms are very specious. excellent views on lagoon side at very reasonable rates. Thanks to the management to maintain the standards.
