If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, the Sofitel in Luang Prabang is the perfect choice. The place is absolutely stunning—a gorgeous colonial-style mansion with a peaceful garden where you might even spot some rabbits roaming around. The pool is amazing, just what you need to chill after a day of exploring the city. The rooms are super spacious and come with their own private garden, so you’ve got plenty of privacy when you want it. And let’s talk about the breakfast—it was the best we had in Laos and honestly better than most European hotels we’ve stayed at. There was a huge variety, and a lot of it was freshly made by the chef, which made it even more special. But what really makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Huge thanks to Te, Vard, Leng, Noudny, and Yai for being so friendly and helpful—they made our stay unforgettable. Next time I’m in Luang Prabang, I know exactly where I’m staying!

This boutique hotel is a peaceful haven in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage site, perfect for slow living and nature-filled relaxation. The spacious rooms, beautifully decorated with Lao silk and local items, offer private gardens with bathtubs for tranquil soaking. The restaurant serves delicious fusion dishes and authentic Lao cuisine, made with fresh produce from the hotel’s organic garden. Breakfast is equally delightful, featuring a wide variety of options. The grounds are serene, with shaded lawns, a large pool surrounded by greenery, and a charming spa in a heritage house. Special thanks to K. Pookie, K. Pingpong, and the team for their outstanding hospitality. Their warm service made our stay unforgettable. Having visited in 2023 and returned with my family in 2024, I’m thrilled to say the experience remains exceptional. Gorgeous courtyard setting with gardens and great pool. Lovely staff. Rooms had multiple small issues: no bedside table on one side of bed, taps/faucets installed backwards, toilet door difficult to open and close.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel with wonderful staff. The rooms are beautiful and kept spotlessly clean and the grounds are stunning. Highly recommend! This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly welcoming, warm and gracious. The hotel feels like a wonderful refuge from it all, with luxurious suites, comfy beds and pillows. We even had a really cute garden in the back with an outdoor tub. The hotel is located very close to the night market and others loca sites. You are still in a third world country, so just expect to walk out to areas that don't have paved sidewalks. There is a lot of dirt paths, stray dogs and markets that are just a part of the experience. At no point did I feel unsafe. This community is very used too and welcoming to foreigners, but respect goes both ways and visitors should honor local customs and traditions. That being said there is an absolute charm to Luang Prabang that is thankfully preserved due to it being a UNESCO heritage site. It's truly wonderful to experience because there are few places still like this.
