In all honesty, I have always considered Ibis to be a low-cost budget hotel that I would not choose to stay at. However, I recently had to attend a meeting that was booked at this hotel, and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. It is important to refrain from making judgments without personal experience, as I discovered that the hotel was remarkably impressive. Upon my arrival, I inquired at the reception desk if any of the rooms offered a view of the airport, as I wanted to video chat with my four-year-old son who is fascinated by airplanes. Unfortunately, they did not have any rooms with the desired view. However, upon returning from dinner, I found a small airplane present waiting for my son, which I thought was an exceptionally thoughtful gesture. This experience has completely transformed my perception of the Ibis brand. I have gone from being reluctant to book with them to being more than happy to do so in the future. Ibis Style has successfully converted me into a loyal customer, and I commend them for their exceptional service.

Great one night, no frills stay!

Great, simple one night stay. Stayed here while attending an event at the NEC. I pre-booked and the room was about £70, including breakfast. Arrived to check in and this was simple and easy. The carpark for the day is an additional £15 charge. My room was clean and simple, slightly tired looking and the bathroom room is extremely weighted so if you don't close it fully it will swing out and bash the main room door. The main door has a lot of damage from this issue, so it must be a frequent occurrence. Full facilities provided, ironing board, iron, kettle, TV, shampoo/conditioner in shower. Bed was large and really comfortable. Quiet floor and room. Breakfast had a large variety and the coffee machine had good options. Check-out was simple and easy. Recommended for a no-frills stay.

Poor experience

Arrived the evening before our early flight. Check in - Terrible. Had to wait around 40 minutes in a que to check in. Staff member was on her own and explained that new system had been installed and she hadn’t had any training so i really did feel sorry for her! . We were given free drinks voucher for the bar only to get to bar to find they were only for the adults and my glass of wine wasn’t included!!! Room - bed was actually comfy but room smelt dirty, which I think was down to the carpets. Good that the deal included parking at the hotel as saved on bus transfer and waiting around. Overall a poor experience and would think twice about staying there again.

Pre holiday stay

Our pre holiday stay was much more than anticipated. We paid the minimum price so didn’t expect too much but the hotel was lovely and better than expected. We enjoyed some really lovely meals for dinner and the service was excellent. A special mention to Tracey who went above and beyond with my young son and the general service all evening. A very pleasant surprise of a stay!

Hotter than Hell, Much like staying in hell

i've arrived at the hotel - its 7pm but nearly 25 degrees outside. When i arrive i find that my room doesn't include breakfast as indicated when i booked and have to pay extra. So i pay £170 for the night inc bfast. When i get to the room the aircon panel is dead. the internal temperature of the room is so hot i can hardly catch a breath and would say its 30/35 degrees. I go to reception and am told the hotel has no aircon, and they cant move me as they gave the last room with aircon away 5 minutes ago. I am offered a fan which fell apart on the way back to the room - which my key no longer opens. i got back to reception and get my key they just gave me recoded, and another fan. I return to my room and the fan is so noisy there is no way i would be able to sleep with it on. The hotel is tired and dated and full of elderly people - its giving Youth hostel vibes though in terms of luxury and comfort. I have been here 25 minutes and am sure i will get no sleep due to the intense heat/noisy fan. There are windows in the room but thy only open about 10cm - i think to stop you hurling yourself out of it. The staff don't care that its hot as hell or about any of the issues.
