Stayed for one night on Saturday 2nd November. Good location, a short walk from Haymarket station. The room was lovely, clean, cosy and warm and had everything we needed. I loved the smell of the shower products in the bathroom, which were also vegan friendly 🌱 There was a desk with a mirror on the wall in front of it too which was convenient when getting ready. Edinburgh has a lot of vegan & vegan friendly cafes and restaurants so we didn’t book breakfast or an evening meal but I did notice there are a few options on the menu here which is good to know. Staff were friendly and welcoming and also looked after our bags while we went out for the day after checking out. I would definitely stay here again 🙂

Such a disappointment, very dirty carpets,ripped around the corner, mould in the bathroom,charger next to bed is broken and doesn't work, we have asked for a new room but instead they have send the housekeeping and sprayed everything with bleach. Still mouldy and dirty room. WiFi was not working properly. We arrived at 11 and have been told that the room is not ready,which is fine, but the staff couldn't tell when the room will be ready : can be at 1pm,can be 2pm or can be after 3pm? They have asked us to call every hour them to check of we are in town. The only good thing about this hotel is the breakfast(really good) but the coffee was awful.

Handily located and quiet. The room was comfortable, with everything I needed. So nice to have water provided. Staff were without exception friendly amd welcoming. Plenty choice for vegans at breakfast. More than enough to set me up for the day. The waiter's smile was an added bonus.

Lovely welcome…room made up even though I was 2 hours early. No problem. Xmas gift of sSnickers and a Twix! Great room on 5th floor . Spotless. The folded towels… made me smile! Food good. Curries and a pint of IPA spot on. I suspect I will come back here. Well done Mercure Haymarket

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The room offered was an accessible room. Went to reception to advise this... told they do not segregate accessible rooms and those with mobility issues and no other room available. Not good enough, and I'm not sure what the staff member was suggesting. I am not in any way against anyone with accessibility issues. I have family members with similar issues. Chocolate and card were supposed to be left as a complimentary offer as it was a special occasion. Not done, either. Bathroom wet room floor lifting, toileting keeps overflowing, room was freezing heating didn't work, plug socket next to bed not working, window faces a wall what a lovely view we had. Mini fridge stocked only with two cans of water and a can of diet in bru... and bedding was so thin, pillows are thin and misshapen. Honestly, it takes a lot for me to complain and write a review. I genuinely am very disappointed with this hotel, won't ever stay here again. What a waste of £240 i genuinely would suggest not staying here. Unless obviously your budget doesn't allow for it. This hotel did not exceed my expectations, unfortunately, and put quite the damper on our night out in Edinburgh.
