Heartfelt thanks to all who had make my 1 week stay a very comfortable and pleasant one. Special thanks to the chefs who made delicious breakfast & snack meals for us. Excellent services provided by front desk & front liners (who help in my car park & proactively shelter me with umbrella when it rained heavily), house keeping who provided necessities and not forgetting a very great team at Compass Bar & Restaurant for their warm hospitality. Looking forward to my next stay soon in April.

My sport shoes has been stollen by housekeeping. No parking despite the fact that it mentioned parking in the hotel description Very very disappointed, I will never go back in this hotel and will not recommend it

The hotel not well prepared for the coming surge of occupancy. The hotel own’s parking not available and had to use public parking. Due to the prime location, it is even harder to secure a parking while staying with the hotel. Room’s sewage having bad odor due to long time not occupied. The occupancy will get higher and higher, I hope the hotel is well prepared for it. Before they having their own parking, I will not be coming back because it is frustrating to worried about parking space and parking ticket

Dear Mercure Hotel Kota Kinabalu, This is my first time staying at your hotel. The booking was made via All Accor apps, your official apps I believed. My booking was SUPERIOR ROOM WITH 1 KING SIZE BED AND VIEW. After the booking was made, I make a call to this hotel to confirm my room availability and requested for Sea View. Upon checking in, with not so welcoming vibrant from the front desk, I went up to the given room. Surprisingly, the room is Twin Bed room! Hence, I called the reception and my call was attended by Rizuan. He seems aware that the room given was not as per my request and he proposed to combine the bed. He explained that there was customer who will request to combine the bed instead. I insisted to get King bed and he agreed to give me the room as per my booking but with garden view. Is this hotel is fully occupied until there was no King bed room with sea view? I would like to suggest for Rizuan to attend customer service training course as the way he handle the situation will only makes things worst! Anyway, I would like to express my appreciation to Evyrina, the Compas waitress for an excellent superb accommodating service. She handled my situation very professionally when I found out there is “hair” in my omelette. Anyway, the bed and pillows are comfortable. Room? Small. Toilet? Small. Please check air conditioning at room 1205. I think it’s time to service it. And for that, I gave you 1 star rating. That stay, will be my 1st and last stay at Mecure Hotel Kota Kinabalu. It’s not worth my money.

8/9/2020 evening 6pm I come back from keningau and recheck in to stay one more night. I ask the person who check in for me(very sorry you are so kind and patient enough but I forget to write down your name)I ask where to see the beautiful sunset. She say 22nd floor is one of the best view...! Thanks a lot to allow me have a good memory about your hotel..... it’s really beautiful to stay in room 2210 and I know have family 2/3 rooms apartment with balcony. The service is with full of human feeling, Care and loves. I appreciate the stay heee. Thansk a lot

Great location, service let it down

Hi You have a great location and the view from the room great, there are several things that could be improved: - house keeping was non existent, I think only one room got serviced once in the days that were there. Had to request additional items but they still didn't arrive, had to go to reception to get more toilet paper - breakfast - needed to order breakfast for an earlier start one day. Cost was MYR35 no matter what you got. That is very overpriced for a continental breakfast. I asked at the time and was told it is a flat rate no matter what you have. Not good money for value - bar snacks - it would be great if you had some snacks to have with a drink in the roof bar. Great venue but would stay longer if you had something light to eat. Even potato chips or nuts, with something like satay sticks even better. Staff were friendly and helpful when we did interact with them, especially the team in the roof bar. Thanks Kay

The 1 bedroom apartment was great.. great sunset view . The top floor cafe very nice. Good concept. Very good service .. clear and stunnibg views, food also delicious. Overall is great place to stay, although mco had its lkmitions on services.. mercure KK shines.

Spacious one bedroom suite but not ideal if you have car

Got complimentary upgrade to one bedroom suite. Very spacious and comfortable. Thanks for the birthday cake too. Restaurant next to pool on 25th floor has stunning sunset view. Overall it was quite a pleasant stay. Especially now they don't have many overseas tourist. Hotel is located near to Jesselton Pier, no hotel parking and please be reminded parking at public parking start from 8am...not like other states from 8:30am. And during weekdays it's pretty hard to have a lot in front of the hotel.

The staff Nadya totally ruined my travel and ruined hotel image. Mercure Kota Kinabalu was the worst accor hotel I've ever stayed. I received the email from accor that my payment already completed but when I arrived there they said it's not paid yet so I paid with other card. I asked to check again to them but Nadya only said "NO, NO" looking at the monitor, she didn't even try to check or review. She didn't look at me, didn't make any eye contact. I was so upset and the room was dirty with candy and jelly. There was stain on a bed sheet. The hotel was all focusing group traveler from travel agency. 코타키나바루 전체에서 한국인 관광객을 호구로 보고있더군요. 전체 여행객 50~60%가 한국인, 30~40%가 중국인, 그리고 나머지 10%가 그외 관광객이라고 느꼈습니다, 도착하자마자 제주도인가? 명동인가? 싶었음. 호텔 위치는 전혀 좋다고 할수 없고 어차피 섬투어를 예약하신분이면 투어버스가 어느 호텔에서든 픽업하기때문에 제셀톤선착장에 걸어갈 위치가 필요없죠, 빙~돌아서 가야하는 쇼핑몰 '수리아사바'는 제일 손님없고 현지인이라면 가지않을 분위기구요, 똑같은 이름의 가게도 물건이 없고 아주 작아서 수트라하버로 옮긴후 이마고 Imago 쇼핑몰 갔더니 가게들 2~3배 크고, 물건많고 사람들 다 여기있음ㅎ 호텔에서 무료로 방 제공 받고, 블로그에 올려서 원고료받는 블로 거x들의 사진에 낚여서 많이들 똥씹은표정으로 호텔로비에 앉아있음, 꼭대기 수영장은 동네 목욕탕 1.5배 크기입니다, 조식 신청하지 않았지만, 단체버스로 퍼나르는 관광객들 아침 조식은 시장바닥 분위기구요 그래서 룸서비스 주문했는데 호텔에서 유일하게 높은점수 드릴수 있는 부분입니다. 클럽샌드위치 정말 훌륭했고 피쉬앱칩스도 타르타르소스랑 정말 맛있게 먹었습니다. 호텔에서 유잇청 걸어가는데 아이들과 20분 걸렸고, 사장님 한국말 잘하시고 정말 친절하십니다. 아침 손님80~90%가 한국인. 에어컨없고 완전 깨끗한 식당은 아니라서 아이들은 싫어했구요. 혹시 한국음식 생각나시면 코비큐 강력추천합니다. 말레이시아 거주 5년차인데 먹어본 한식당중 가장 한국음식다운 식당입니다. 머큐어 코타키나바루는 두번다시 방문하고싶지 않은 호텔입니다. 코타키나바루 전체에 좋은 호텔이 많아서 앞으로 경쟁이 더 힘들어질것 같네요.

Warmly welcomed upon checking in. Staffs were really friendly. I was indeed surprised by a candle-lit birthday cake on my birthday during the stay! So heart warming. Location and food were definitely fantastic. Will stay again!

Excellent hotel near the boats to the islands and shopping malls. There is a walking distance from hotel to the fish and evening markets. Staff was very nine and helpful. The rooms were tiny and clean.

short stay ok

hotel at the end of CBD. walking distance to CBD and water front. checking in n checking out slow. checking in, not felt welcome as platinum members. room upgraded to privilege room 709. toilet flushing is poor, water shower leaking. room cleaning not done, though I met the cleaning lady on the chrck out day. roof top bar has partial view of the sea, but again no service. I will consider another hotel in KK.

hotel not really welcoming guest especially high tier royal member (platinum/gold). as for me only housekeeping hod worked that night smile and say hello to me. hotel staff did not fully aware on platinum entitlement i.e. free breakfast and able to enter lounge i guess

The room was comfortable clean and the hotel is located near malls and restaurants and stores. Staffs are friendly and helpfull. Parking however is not provided therefore those who park in front of the hotel have to be aware of the parking tickets and fines.get parking coupons ready in the car.

Very friendly team. Everyone take care of you. Good breakfast. Nice roof-top-bar and pool. Next to waterfront and jesselton point (port). We booked a appartment with 2 sleeping-rooms. The price / quality ratio is excellent.

Terribly inattentive service. A simple laundry was delivered 1 day late, after 3 reminders.

Bad service from check in onward. Laundry was delivered one day late after Three reminders. And this is so called branded hotel. I can get better service at a smaller hotel. Waste of money. Will not stay here when I am back in KK next week.

Excellent Hotel with Very Convenient Location

We stayed in 2 bed suite for 4 nights and no doubt one of the best hotels I stayed in the category with excellent hospitality, good breakfast and supportive staff. One major plus is the location which is situated at a very convenient place in KK and provides easy access to all places. If you are visiting KK and looking for a reasonably priced high standard hotel; then look no where except Mercure KK.

Great stay after a poor start

Our first rooms were dreadful. The website had listed them as looking out on a courtyard, whereas they looked out on a concrete floor and directly into the rooms opposite. The wardrobe door wouldn't open as it hit the hinge on the back of the external door. The safe was in the bottom of this side of the wardrobe so we had to get down on hands and knees to try and put our valuables away. The handbasin had a big crack which didn't look good. However the room itself was spacious and the bedding superb. Our friend left the next day so we complained about the room and got moved to a one bedroom apartment, which was great, but we had to pay quite a bit extra which strained the budget somewhat. Staff were fantastic and the breakfast excellent. We also dined twice in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the meals. Will stay again should the opportunity arise but will look very carefully at the room choices.

Mostly good, a few minor issues

Being a Accor club member I was upgraded to a privilege room with a welcome fruit bowl selection. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Good breakfast choice. I had a complimentary drinks voucher but was unable to use it a the roof top pool bar. I went to the bar at the lobby but I was refused a coffee and was told I could only have juice with the voucher! I did not use the voucher. In other Accor hotels this was not a problem and the voucher could be also used for alcoholic drinks. There was also a issue with ordering a taxi for the airport for the next morning. I was given different information depending on who you talk to at reception. In the end I used a Grab taxi which turned out to be more straightforward.

Lots of surprise when we walk out of the hotel to discover more eateries and local food stalls. Thanks for upgrading our room despite that the pillows are too soft and should consider cater for the need of customers who prefer harder pillows
